As TT approaches I always fail to recognise how deeply entrenched in IOM TT I am. The riders, the course, the crowds, the paddocks, the start, the corners.... even the tingling atmosphere of actually being there all comes flooding back. I last rode to TT and back in 2017. It was without doubt the most amazing experience ever. So much so I know it could never be matched and I never rode again. The bike is still as I left it the moment I stepped off. TT flies and all.

Connors comeback has to be the greatest... every year since 2010 he has had to rewatch his accident a 1000 times over the fortnight, that must be mentally hard. The job is hard enough with out seeing that every day..

I played rugby in the front row, at a pretty high level, for many years, but nothing compares with the physical and mental toughness that these guys possess. I'll be going over again this year, but I know I will still never be able to understand how they do it. They are the bravest!!

If Honda had not weaponised his ten-year contract while the ink was still drying to stop him from racing for anyone else, despite withdrawing from racing themselves, Mike Hailwood's record at the TT would still be the one that others chased after. His comeback was as a privateer, as well, and as Honda had returned to racing,, he punished them heavily by thrashing them on a machine with barely over half of the horsepower. As a result, we got Japanese motorcycles that actually handled decently, as until then they had insisted that any handling deficit could be overcome with more horsepower. They really believed that, despite the complaints from riders and even legislators about "wet spaghetti frames" and many other phrases that would be familiar to any motorcyclist of the era. Mike didn't only prove them wrong, he rubbed their noses in it with such complete dominance. I don't know of anyone who has left such a profound impact on all motorcycles, and not only in racing.

So good to hear different opinions from the riders but how humble they are, how much they speak up about each other is so nice! Johnston cracks me up every time! Look forward to another road racing season and more of this content!

To be fair it's a common thing all riders tend to share so we all talk about it. Share our experiences with injuries and come backs. Me personally I will always tell my story and am always keen to hear what other riders have to say about there story's, it's abit of common ground. And it is an unfortunate thing with bikes everyone will get hurt bad at some point or know of someone who has. It's a different story on race day however and u shouldn't talk about thoes things on race day/weekend

I agree so much with all of these, and Connor having that crash in 2010 and then placing 6th in the 2011 supersports is mind blowing. Coming back from these big offs shows the guys are hard as nails. As much as people talk about the TT race history and the course, its the people riding that makes it amazing. Its the one race where you don't really see people being fans of one rider, but are fans of everyone. Yes we all have our favourites but I think if we are all honest we'd like everyone to win, the TT is pretty much the last pure race experience where people are happy for everyone who competes, not just "their guy". I would love to see Connor get a 1st place this year, but at the same time I want Michael to get to his 25th and 26th wins and I'd love to see Hickman set another record or 2 and I want to see McGuiness get one more victory to add to his legacy. The TT is the only event I can think of like that, you want everyone to get their victory and spotlight, not everyone can win but you want them all to.
