Kai had a sweet win in top 16 using Teferi's + ability to cast sorceries at instant speed. He cast intuition to put breach in the yard then cast Sevinne's Reclamation to bring it back. He had Birgi and Smothering Tithe in play to make mana, milled out the table, cast Angel's Grace and Wheeled to kill us all!

I had a double-take when I heard they were doing a first to 2. This invites some very low-brow gameplay where you have players intentionally throwing matches to an opponent who's got no wins as opposed to someone with a win. It ends up being an "Everyone gets their win first" before the penultimate game 5 match, in which... yall shoulda just done one and done from the start. And let me tell ya, you're not the same player as you were 5-8 hours prior.

Except that's not what happened, is it? One player got to 2 wins by game 3, only one other player got a win. Two players got 0 wins. I watched the top 4 matches and it didn't feel like any players were intentionally trying to throw the game to another player.

​@@a.velderrain8849it's not what happened but it's something that could have and something that happens at certain stores that runs leagues/finals with those types of rules. Props to the finalists of this event for not doing that.
