The thing that i remember about this skit, or perhaps a follow up skit, is that if a 501c4 decides to shutdown the director can do whatever he wants with the remaining funds including transferring them into his personal accounts. It's just like he said in this skit, it's a money laundering scam.

@@fallen_cookie exactly, colbert mocked(and still does) the far right, sometimes the left, but 90% it was the right, its crazing that so many people don't understand that. I mean maybe its too harsh to say, but basically he was showing how fucking stupid they were, and by the looks of it this show still holds up, it still shows how easy it easy to suck people into a false narrative, no matter how ironic or fake it is, it shows that people will believe anything, even when they realize its just a spoof, they actively believe that this character was on their side. it couldn't be far from the truth

@redakdal2 жыл бұрын
because its owned by viacom, the whole reason youtube started putting ads and cracking down on copyrighted videos was a result of viacom suing youtube back in early 2008 or so. viacom own CC and the colbert report, thats why its very hard to keep these videos on youtube, even as a mirror but in short if you want to blame anyone for copyright claims, its viacom 100%

@@stoodmuffinpersonal3144 I'm all for that as I'm lucky to have been recommended this video after binging a lot of other Colbert Report ones, but would this video getting popular cause it to be taken down? (genuinely asking as I never really understand how some get removed and some stay up)
@davidthedeaf Жыл бұрын
@@noodle3218 a few months ago 3 different women from various nations had some of their best work removed. KZbin claimed they violated something. It turns out that criminally evil people were reporting them. One person was doing polite videos debunking 5 minute crafts and making cakes, but had removed a warning video on a dangerous method of art using a part of a microwave that caused many to be electrocuted and die. Evidently some of those making videos to do the art reported her, and it took a long time to get it back up again. Several people said she saved their lives. Another person was transgender, and a far right person was making fake claims on videos allowed on KZbin, to which she POLITELY debunked, one thing at a time. Likewise it took a lot of work and time to get it back up, after a false claim against her. The other woman is a mortician, and had not done anything gruesome, but had one of their most important videos removed and couldn’t understand why. So unfortunately corrupt people can do whatever they want here, but those trying to do what they believe is a good thing to save lives are prevented and punished.
