I like to think lup is the reason for why the boys tend to gravitate to a strong female character who has their own experience in heroism
@turtledude833 жыл бұрын
Damn yeah that tracks. Especially Taako who lampshades it several times.

Strong female characters are common across a lot of their work, but they all lost their mother quite young, so that may influence it

I was thinking that before I saw your comment, yeah. I've always been a bit cool on Merle; unlike Taako, who was a bad person in a very consistent and logical way, Merle always seemed really contradictory; as Travis teased Clint once, "Merle is a very religious person when he wants something." But here, it's like the character really clicked. Having been spoiled on some aspects of the finale, I've been waiting a very long time to see this, and it's really great.

I feel like in the context of everything taako does after the 100 year cycle makes a lot of sense. Because from what this episode has shown, Lup was basically Taako's person to morally ground him (stealing and looting is a different case, that stuff just seems like petty fun). So many decisions Taako has made up to this point in the podcast seems like something that would have changed if Lup was there too.

A reminder that Lucretia had to feed the _entire_ history of these robots, history that was painstakingly gathered by her and Merle _specifically_ to be preserved because that was the end for that civilization and NOBODY would know about them were it not for the two, to the Void Fish. Let that sink in.

@Arrakiz6663 жыл бұрын
@@goten3268 That wouldn't work though, when the Voidfish is fed something, all information about it vanishes from reality, so even if she has a copy of their history, nobody would be able to read it.
@goten32683 жыл бұрын
@@Arrakiz666 Well if you are inoculated with that certain voidfish the information deleted with it probably would have been restored to its former place like it could possibly mean that the writing is unobservable like a Minecraft inchanting table text but if you are inoculated it becomes words.
@Arrakiz6663 жыл бұрын
@@goten3268 I don't think that's how it works, I think the physical medium of the information, like the paper on which it was written, is destroyed in the process. If you read that information before and you get inoculated, you'll remember it, but the medium is still destroyed. So if she has a copy, after feeding the original to the Voidfish the text would become indistinguishable blur to anybody who reads it.

Finally this far in after seeing shorts and fan animations about something called the "Adventure Zone" for years. I've been having a hard time making myself pay attention to this and the last episode. Narrative is good...but what I enjoy enjoy most is character to character rp, dialogue, emotions. The century eps are like history lessons sprinkled with some dialogue here and there. I understand this story necessitates that kind of story mechanism to get through the 100 years. I don't blame Griffin for my not enjoying it. But I don't enjoy it. I'm sticking with it because I am invested in the characters, all the same

Griffin's commentary during the break makes me believe he may have gotten complaints in the game change during this part of the story, which is a shame. I really very much enjoyed it. I think it really helped all of them really gel together writing the story, the change in game mechanics was also a fresh little change considering they had been playing standard D&D so long. I enjoyed it so much I am planning on stealing the idea later for my own players.
