this is why he is my favorite character. i volunteer at a supermarket and make announcements in the store like garret. although my announcements are more professional. i also thought it was interesting because he has a disability and so do i. although i have autism so its a bit different. but it was still interesting. i also feel like i have a similar personality too.

The show did an amazing job of pointing out the failures, greed, selfishness, incompetence, and inhumanity of corporations. My favorite jab was where they make the point that after striking the corporate manager wants them sign a letter absolving the company of any wrongdoing and for the employees to apologize for walking out, and treats the idea of workers asking for real benefits, not being charged to use the bathroom and or firing employees and etc to not have to pay benefits because of their age, or refusing maternity leave, or paid maternity leave was somehow the workers crime.

My problem with Superstore- which I still love- is that it you can tell it’s written by people with decent, skilled jobs, who don’t understand the actual degrading nature of entry level work. In better jobs, people have a little more autonomy. That doesn’t exist for the most of working class.
