I don’t know the situation with that scene but in the vast majority of the shows it is not a fake mustache. I read one of Nick Offerman’s books where he talks about how it takes him 2-3 weeks to grow that mustache before they start filming.

It’s only fake in certain parts. Possibly because he had it a) burned off at the L’il Sebastian memorial or b) Tammy 1 made him shave it off when they briefly got back together. You could tell the one he was wearing during that episode wasn’t real because it was nowhere near as glorious as the bona fide Offerman moustache.
