I love how he welcomes all the representatives of the Illinois law enforcement community, who he knows he will have to contend with after the show. John Candy's performance in this movie is sometimes overlooked. He was great.

not in the same genre, but to me it's one of those rare movies that encapsulates so many genres. I think of Swayze's "Ghost" being part comedy, romance, thriller. The Blues Brothers ropes in action, comedy, musical. it seems the art of Hollywood taking a risk and giving us something artistic is long gone.

First time l watched this Movie l was part of the Royal Marine detachment on HMS Rhyl .We had been at sea 6 weeks, and this was shown on movie Night in the ratings galley. Loved the film ever since and , l have never understood why it didn't do well at the box office .

H and I are now in our 70’s and 3 “children” now in their 40’s, but we all agree that this is the best musical ever. Family favourite video watched over and over, never get tired of it and still makes us laugh, and at family parties we love to “Shake a tail feather “ Also been to various Brothers shows and tributes. I saw the Blues Brothers in concert in 1981 at the Long Beach arena. They opened up for Steve Martin. The whole band was there. Greatest concert I've ever been to.

So LUCKY and Glad that all of these Legends were in one movie together!!!!! The ENTIRE movie was Pure Magic! Scores a solid 25 on a scale of 1 to 10!!! Cab's Magical transformation to "Back in the Day" and Aretha wearing her slippers in the diner, and John's cartwheel I could go on longer than the movie's run time! This was back when Horriblewood actually produced GOOD movies that EVERYONE wanted to watch. This is one of the greatest Musicals of ALL TIME! Thank you, Producers, Writers, Stars AND Crew, especially the shot of the crew at the end was genuine CLASS! As a matter of fact, I'm going to rewatch the movie right dang now!!! Haw, Haw, Haw, Haw! Great R&B, a demented jilted lover complete with rocket launcher, neo-Nazis, James Brown as a preacher, Ray Charles as a music shop owner, a classic chase scene; who but John Landis could have thrown this all together and made such a memorable romp? I never tire of watching this zaniness.

My favorite movie. My favorite musical. This was the very first VHS tape I ever watched in 1983. I believe I read somewhere that John's father was a gym teacher and that really is John doing the acrobatics, not a stunt double.

I remember seeing people of all nationalities laughing out loud and singing along while watching this movie in the theater. Belushi, like many of the great comedians of that time , knew how to bring people together to have a great time.

I remember seeing this movie at the end of 1980 (Hollywood movies were always a few months late in India). Everyone was hooting and hollering inside the theater. The ushers had to stop people from dancing in the aisles. It's one of those rare movies that would keep getting a re-run in Bombay. And we'd go again and again. Saw it on the big screen at least 4 times. :)))

As a child, I flashed on this film in the cinema 23 times. I dragged my parents, grandparents, uncles and all my friends, in threes. To that extent, I enjoyed Landis' film. Am I a crazy person?
