His final sentence has something poetic to it. When he says "She's the reason we..." you expect something world changing that happened because of her. But then he finishes with "... know about Watergate." Because that's really all that happened. We know about the Crimes, but nothing has changed to prevent stuff like that from happening again. If your teacher meant you should think carefully about what is presented as "factual" then s/he is very right. But not all facts are a matter of opinion. For example, on Earth we experience gravity. The United States used to have legal slavery. There is a hurricane over the Atlantic right now. A true "fact" should be consistent with objective reality and independently verifiable via observable phenomena. I'm not attacking you or your teacher, but we live in a dangerous time, when the concept offacts and objective truth is being deliberately eroded in online discussion, so we have to be very careful.
