@Winter Wonder Ah, yes. But they're more able to afford better health care and are more able to reduce exposure in the first place because they're not living paycheck-to-paycheck and can stay home. Yes, the rich can of course contract illness. But the deck is certainly stacked in their favor, especially when compared to the poor.

Winter Wonder well seeing how many RICH people are completely asymptomatic and getting tests when poor people aren’t... or how all the RICH people are gettin put up in the best hospitals and diverting unnecessary and disproportionate amounts of equipment from the less wealthy areas... or how RICH people aren’t being forced to drink from the unclean water that the CDC now thinks can drastically increase your chances of getting sick... or how RICH people are now taking their private jets to disaster bunkers to live out the next several months with no contact with us commoners....

Which doesn't stop the Corona virus from infecting you if you are within 6 feet of an infected person just breathing toward you. In fact, now research is showing that the virus remains airborne even AFTER an infected person has moved away from you. Google that. Washing your hands is key, also, but so is staying away from other people who don't show symptoms. And 25% of infected people do NOT show symptoms.

Mary found work, not cooking, but housekeeping, but she made far more money as a cook, and she was good at it, so she went back to cooking, and spreading typhoid, she was also suspicious that she could have typhoid, without being sick herself, she figured, they were just anti Irish, which was a real thing, at the time.
@darlagoddesshate
@darlagoddesshate 4 жыл бұрын
She was absolutely right to be skeptical but after a certain point she was just refusing facts. It's part of what makes her story so unfortunate. Eventually even those sympathetic folks were lumped in as being untrustworthy despite them saying "Everyone you cook for is getting sick babe"

it wouldve been interesting to hear a quote from her on the matter. Apparently Soper was going to write a book and give her Royalties, but she refused. She changed jobs frequently and refused to cooperate and never stayed long after an outbreak. She surely had to realize that what they were saying was true. And easy precautions could be taken.

That's the problem with viruses. Just like the cold and flu almost anyone can be asymptomatic and be a carrier for life. The virus can lay dormant in nonvascular tissues and then come back at anytime your immune system becomes weakened. Don't ever get a root canal.
