Mary Mallon spread typhoid wherever she went, and all because she wouldn’t wash her hands.
About Drunk History:
Based on the popular web series, Drunk History is the liquored-up narration of our nation’s history. Host Derek Waters, along with an ever-changing cast of actors and comedians, travels across the country to present the rich tales that every city in this land has to offer. Booze helps bring out the truth. It's just that sometimes the truth is a little incoherent.

Which doesn't stop the Corona virus from infecting you if you are within 6 feet of an infected person just breathing toward you. In fact, now research is showing that the virus remains airborne even AFTER an infected person has moved away from you. Google that. Washing your hands is key, also, but so is staying away from other people who don't show symptoms. And 25% of infected people do NOT show symptoms.

@elisabeth4912
@elisabeth4912 4 жыл бұрын
How do individual rights exactly fit the story of Typhoid Mary? As a cook she had to follow hygiene guidelines, as nurses and doctors have to, as well. There is nothing wrong with starting a business, in fact I applaud it, but especially if you work in certain branches and need to be aware of cleanliness, it's not difficult and it doesn't really hinder your individual rights. A doctor can't be unhygienic either and then talk about individual rights, so why should it be much different in the cooking business?

Perhaps you'd have a better picture of the situation if you actually did any research apart from this video. Mary never believed she had typhoid fever to begin with, partially based on the diagnosis of a highly regarded pharmacist. Furthermore, the knowledge that one can be infected by a disease as well as spread it without showing any symptoms was very little known, especially around common people, and still controversial.
