This was a real study with pretty sad ending. The real events caused cricticism making the study to shut down. The dolphin became so attached to the lady scientist that it refused to eat when lady scientist was made to not communicate with dolphin ever again. Eventually dolphin died of starvation Update: I just came back here after a year. Seriously, what the fuck is going on? I didn't at all want to be disrespectful. I just read the story somewhere and never care to read the name which is a normal human behaviour i guess. Plus, english is my second lang, never thought it could be disrespectful.

@LARRYIsRealForeverWi5 жыл бұрын
Jacqueline Underwood or call her by her name cause u know, the video mentions it and she deserves some respect?
@JacquelineUnderwood5 жыл бұрын
Da_Queen_Regg okay, know what? As someone who is SHIT with names, “lady scientist” is going to do a lot more in the context of this for me, than her name would. Yes she deserves respect, and yes she has a name. Calling her exactly what she is, a scientist who is a woman, is not disrespectful. It would be disrespectful to be actually disrespectful to her. I get that people are really shitty to women, and sexism is absolutely a thing, but this is not an example of it. If this comment were an actual article about this part of history, and she was only referred to as “the lady scientist” that would be sexist, because they’re not giving her credit where credit is due. It’s the difference between just saying “she did this” when someone’s name has already been made known, and when it hasn’t. In this case, her name is known and can be found pretty easily, and it’s been established that she is an important and respected part of the experiment. It’s okay to not use her name every single time she’s mentioned as long as it’s understood who is being referenced.
@LARRYIsRealForeverWi5 жыл бұрын
Jacqueline Underwood uhm, idk about you, but it seems like lots of excuses to justify being so lazy that it was too hard to just go back to the video and hear her name. Is giving her recognition, never said anything about sexism...and idk about u (again) but i was raised on the belief that knowing someones name (and title, like king,majesty, doctor) and using it is the correct way to show respect, regardless of how well you or pther know them. Nevertheless maybe is something cultural so, let’s not break our head around it. :)

Chris Parnell is a very underrated actor. Imagine having the guy who plays Jerry Smith from Rick and Morty or Cyril Figgis from Archer playing an incredibly well-respected and accomplishment NASA scientist.

ROTFL!!!! This had to have been the inspiration for "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"-by Douglas Adams. "So, long and thanks for all the fish"! -The Dolphins of Earth. ;)
