Ren and stimpy ended in 96. SpongeBob started in 99. Both owned by Nickelodeon. A lot of the Ren and Stimpy staff went on to work for SpongeBob. There is no influence. It's a lot of the same people.

Me mum wouldn’t permit me to watch Ren & Stimpy on my childrenshood when I was a children. She also told me that adults are always right. I told her it’s a kids show that’s made by adults. It’s for kids, and since adults always know what’s best, this must be the best cartoon for childrens.
