George Carlin took comedy to a whole new level by filling his routine with social commentary rants that made the audience laugh. Dave Chappelle is the only comedian alive I know who can rival Carlin. Richard Pryor was a comedy genius. Many imitated him but none could ever reach his level of excellence. Pryor is to comedy what James Brown is to soul/funk music.
@c.galindo963926 күн бұрын
@@1977TA Carlin is hardly funny with his routines and extremely biased along with majorly flawed with most of his political ideals. He says some things that both sides of a political spectrum would agree on but other than that he is hardly anyone great in comedy and is mediocre at best but his biggest audience is mediocre to like him and feed his ego along with his insatiable ignorance on his political views. He is dead now and really he can still be liked by some but hardly is anyone to praise in the world of comedy
@1977TA26 күн бұрын
@@c.galindo9639 Carlin like Chappelle isn't for everyone. To be honest those guys started out as comedians but evolved into social commentators during the latter part of their careers. If Carlin was around In the hyper sensitive climate of the 2020's people would be out to cancel him just like they tried to shutdown Chappelle. Carlin told the truth and it wasn't pretty. The truth hurts, and can also be funny if you have a sense of humor which current audiences seem to lack.
@c.galindo963926 күн бұрын
@@1977TA please. Unlike Carson, Chappelle is pure comedy and hardly has a political agenda made obvious. Chappelle is praised much because he just does things right by himself and is righteous in how he approaches certain situations. Carson hardly would be the cancelled type especially with his political views which are very biased towards the “liberal” side without actually being liberal but more like the same mindset of the modern indoctrinated socialist college minded individuals who take things to the extreme and take many things for granted while preaching as if they’re self righteous and more right above others. Carson literally went against many political ideas that were way more popular than today that go against his political ideological views. Today Carson would be considered like an “intellectual” who knows what’s best for society all while he doesn’t have to suffer the consequences of his ill advised views because he is amongst the wealthy class and will be a puppet even though he likes to pretend he isn’t for the government in that type of way
