People need to realize that Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, Patrice'O'Neal, Kevin Hart, Chris Rock and some of these great comics of today used to hang around each other absolutely TORCHING each other day in and day out. And I think these comidians just dont like goofy and silly bs talk that flies around these podcasts these days. If you talk bs infront of legit, veteran comics, these guys have the muscle memory of a veteran boxer to go in for the kill. Theo was not the point behind what I said. Bill was always angry for a A reason. If you are familiar with his previous material he would say as much himself and elaborate on the reasons anything pissed him off. And the simple fact is that Burr is not as funny or as good as he once was. You can't stay on top forever. Also believe me, I am old enough to understand how people change and evolve. Burr use to be and angry edgy comedian that people from many different ethnic backgrounds could appreciate, relate to, and laugh at his material. Now he doesn't come across as an angry comedian with material everybody can laugh at. Now he just reminds me of Walter Matthau in Grumpy Old Men. His material doesn't immediately strike me as funny anymore. It hits more like a Grumpy old man just bitching at about random stuff and talking smack about long time fans. He also is dismissive of younger up and comers and seems like he is actually a dick in real life now. It really shitty how he won't shut up about Elvis since his wife told him Elvis was a theif. Elvis stole Rock N Roll from Little Richard and black people in general since he used elements of Delta Blues musicians like Robert Johnson. It's true Little Richard played a style of Rock N Roll a good while before Elvis hit the scene. Elvis did absolutely innovate his own style of Rock N Roll using Delta Blues elements and combining them with elements of popular Country/Western style music to form Rockabilly. Elvis didn't steal shit. I grew up exactly where Elvis did in the Mississippi Delta. The popular music was Blues, Country, and Gospel. Elvis simply used what he grew up with and the music he loved as a kid to create his sound. Little Richard absolutely should be far more recognized and known for his contributions than what he is. That's not on Elvis though. Elvis also performed a tremendous amount of just gospel music that he didn't write and was widely known like Hallelujah and others. No one says he stole Gospel. When you grow up in that part of the country you are exposed to both black and white culture and music. Like I said Burr is more of a Grumpy old man and a hater these days. He became the punchline of his own jokes. I still appreciate what he accomplished and consider a prime Burr one of the all time GOATS. It is what it is.
