Rest In Peace Gary. What a pro voice-over and narrator artist! He really set a great standard in the industry and at the same time was able to be a satire of the typical TV and radio announcers. Though I never did much v.o. or narration work, I often thought of of Gary Owen's style and talent when I did radio shows, and even when recording an outgoing message on my answering machine. Yes, Gary Owens was the golden voice of radio. He was a regular on Hee HAW and his voice The Munsters a radio DJ . also he appeared in movies. He voiced lots of animation characters such as Roger Ramjet and his famous character voice is Space Ghost and others. He was an announcer on TV and radio spots. He is also an actor appearing in movies from the 1960s to 2004. And got a star on The Hollywood walk of Fame. Gary Owens was a pioneer in those entertainment mediums and genres. RIP. 1934 - 2016 .

To me and I'm sure a lot of other baby boomers, Gary Owens, in addition to his "Laugh-In" gig, will always be remembered as the voice of "Space Ghost," when it first aired, and not when he was a talk-show host. Loved his intro to that show. "SPAAAACE GHOOOOST!" Then that montage of him zapping aliens and blowing stuff up. Great action.
