Wtf? 4 minutes in there hasn't been anything even resembling a joke. If you took away the laughter of the inebriated crowd, it's just a fat woman whining about stuff. Hey, who turned out the "lights"? And by "lights", I mean funny. And by "turned out the lights I mean. "Who sucked every last particle of funny out of this routine, like the poor black hole that somehow got roped into a punchline that wasn't". Isa just gets better. Well she probably can't get worse, but maybe she could hyrry up with that "better" part.this was about as funny as a trip to the dentist. When you didn't actually go to see the dentist, you just want to spend quality time with the 1986 reader's digest and some calming muzak. Gah
@AyJayOlly5 жыл бұрын
WTF? Are you Anna's partner or something? (: watch whole set for the Anna reference :) 2 sentences in and there is nothing even resembling constructive criticism or a rational opinion. If you take away the self-indulgent amateur analysis of this set you are left with a comment by a butthurt shit-poster whingeing about someone actually getting off their arse to try and make people laugh instead of doing it themselves. (: and yes her arse does look big in that tracksuit, watch whole set for the tracksuit reference :) Isa definitely has some great potential material but I would say her delivery needs a bit of work and some polishing up of her elocution (I didn't understand her saying "strip-tease" which is a keyword in the joke so the punchline went over my head). But hey, she's speaking English with a Spanish accent so it's understandable and I'm sure she will work on improving herself for sure. The title is "Isa just gets better", well I hadn't heard her before but thought she was pretty good and with a bit of spit and polish she'll shine like a super-nova, a celestial event which is nearly as rare as a non woke, PC safe comedienne who hates men and blames them for everything ... or maybe she'll just have a wash after being spat on, smeared with polish and her improvement compared to a scuffed shoe.
@KrisHarrisnNeti5 жыл бұрын
Not my cup of tea except the, being Cremated and thrown into a cyclists eyes, joke. I still give her a lot of credit for being a foreign speaker and doing stand up can't be easy, I sure as shit wouldn't try and i'm a native English speaker. But I'm sure others liked it, each to their own.
@eschelar5 жыл бұрын
@@AyJayOlly I do not need to make a constructive criticism of a comedienne who doesn't make jokes, just like you don't need to make a well-structured and substantiated rebuttal to an argument in the Hitchen's Razor defense you're trying to make. The problem is that humor isn't rational. But it does need to be humorous. You've even admitted yourself that her delivery needs work. Why? Because she's... not funny? There are even others here who are saying the same thing. She's just not funny. Music does have some rational elements, such as tune, timing and harmonic structures. However, humor doesn't. So it's open to subjective opinions like I presented above. Your second defense of her is "yeah, but you're not doing it, so you can't criticize". This is a fool's argument known as an "appeal to accomplishment". It doesn't work because you don't have to be a comedian to find jokes funny, so you also don't need to be a comedian to find jokes not funny. The measure of whether something is funny or not is not dependent on the skill level of the person hearing the joke just as the measure of whether some music sounds nice is not dependent on whether the person is a musician or not. If you want to create the argument to accomplishment, you'll need to work on the same metric, which is finding things funny. If you want to discard my opinion as worthless because of accomplishment, you need to apply that to whether or not I laughed at other comedians. If I could sit stonefaced through a Jimmy Carr routine or a Dave Chappelle special, then yes, maybe there's something wrong with me. Maybe if I never laughed at Yumi Nagashima, you might say "he's sexist, so he can't see humor" or "he's racist, so he can't see humor" or maybe cobble together some sort of language barrier problem in the vain hope that it would work better for you. But the "you're not a comedian, so you don't understand humor" is an easily overturned argument.
@AyJayOlly5 жыл бұрын
@@eschelar I thought you were harsh and being overly critical about an amateur comedienne who is trying her best to make it in a professional capacity, she needs to work on her delivery which I stated. I find KZbin keyboard-warrior trolls expecting AAA level content for free annoying especially when they make an effort to type long, crap comments just critisizing and being negative instead of offering helpful feedback. Each to their own and free-speech and whatever but your comment was just you being a dick. This channel is trying to rejuvenate real from-the-heart comedy and the standups involved are trying their best. I'd rather appreciate and support them even if sometimes an act they feature needs a bit of work. Oh, my reply had nothing to do with your convoluted response to my response which was also long-winded, enjoy what you want. What I was pointing out was if you haven't tried to entertain people in any field then you have no idea how hard it is to come up with original material that entertains people. Thus you making the effort to make the comment you made was just you moaning with no justified reason other than to make yourself feel better about yourself while trying to make someone feel bad about actually doing something with their lives. As the saying goes "Some people do, others just bitch about people that do."
@eschelar5 жыл бұрын
@@AyJayOlly yeah I am familiar with this backpedaling. But you're backpedaling to more social arguments that go nowhere. Fortunately, I am not comparing her to myself. I have my own achievements which I don't compare her with either. I seriously doubt she could handle any of the things I do on a regular basis. But I am not one to apply this logical fallacy. You are. However, I would compare her against her peers. Specifically, other people who have performed in this particular show. This is the first time I have listened to a comedian on this show and genuinely did not even crack a smile. She is remarkable only in the fact that she has a standup routine with no jokes. It is fine to say "you have no idea how hard it is to come up with..." But I am not the one trying to sell a comedy routine with no jokes. You keep falling back to this logical fallacy. I don't need to be a farmer to buy a dozen eggs, open up the box and see that there are no eggs inside it. Even if "you have no idea how hard it is to buy egg boxes these days". And if I called it out for being a package of a dozen eggs with no eggs inside, no it's not really just me being a dick. I am just pointing out something that should be obvious to anyone with half a brain. You're defending something without merit and you haven't a leg to stand on.
