Hello all,
Welcome to a Victorian heritage train video. Today we travel up the Dandenong Ranges for the sensation of steam - something a little bigger than usual this time. On Saturday the 29th of June, Steamrail Victoria ran their Ringwood Suburban Shuttles with steam locomotive K153 and the Red Rattlers. This is actually the train’s second attempt at running up to Belgrave after an operational incident during last year's attempt, leading to its cancellation shortly after completing the first shuttle. To abide by the new restrictions this year, four shuttles were run between Ringwood and Belgrave with K153 leading the DOWN services up the hills and the Tait running down. Two one-way transfer trains to and from Ringwood were also run, before and after the tour.
For this tour the Red Rattlers were set up in their four-carriage formation.
In this video we begin our day at East Camberwell then focus our main efforts on the shuttles between Ferntree Gully and Belgrave, with one DOWN service captured in Boronia.

Steamrail Victoria is one of the mainline heritage operators in Victoria, offering day trips and weekend tours back to a bygone era, whether by heritage steam, diesel or electric. Well done, Adrian, for suffering in the appalling weather so I can watch this two days later from the comfort of my living room, inside from not much better weather. The trespassers around Boronia had me gasping. Now for some hot soup for me and chicken/milk for the meowing furrball outside - better let her in. Hey mate what a great video while presented great locations the location that you picked a for Boronia that's what I would have done to too wet so I kept pretty much to the stations but that location at Boronia to return trip from Bayswater is a prime spot a million-dollar shot
