Yummmmmmmmyyyyy! I’m a true blue pepper eatin’ Texas girl. I’ve just recently learned to like candied jalapeños (I eat regular ones like they’re pickles). So this will be a new treat for me and my family for sure. Of course 1/4 cup will not do🥰 Thank y’all for the recipe. Be blessed!

Judy, we are excited to know that you’re going to give this recipe a try. We’ve always called candied jalapeños “cowboy candy”. I just bought some Saturday at a craft fair, so this is going to be served at our family Christmas get together. Thanks for the recipe! The hotter the better for my two sons and me. Not so much for my husband and daughters-in-law. Lol.

Absolutely, HLLRZR! Have fun experimenting! It’s not always fun coloring inside the lines, right? Sometimes we have to go out there on our own and do our own thing. There’s not a thing in the world wrong with that. Here’s just a suggestion that you can take or leave. I think I would mix the softened cream cheese and mayo or miracle whip, spread it on a pie plate, and pour your jalapeño jelly on top. Then people could use chips or crackers to dip out of that pie plate. Let us know what you end up doing with your jalapeño jelly. I’m anxious to hear how it turns out. Thanks for watching our video!
This is right up my alley, and I prefer it to have some heat. I don't want the heat to overpower the taste, but I do want to notice the spice. I'm okay with it making my lips tingle and my nose run a bit. I'm betting this would also be great stuffed in celery. I think I'd love the chance to just experiment with various things to see what I like it paired with best.

I have never found anything to hot for my brother. He lived in New Mexico on the Navajo reservation, my uncle is a missionary there, for a couple of years. Uncle Jerry said that David, my brother, had a lead stomach. He would eat those peppers straight up. For Christmas I buy him the hottest sauces I can find. He loves them. Even the ones with the crossbones on them. He ain't right. Anyway, Every year I make him Cowboy Candy, candied jalapeno's. I usually get about 28 pints jars. He's already out. He puts it on everything. I think he even puts it on ice cream. I just had hip replacement but I'm going to make this for him and surprise him with it. He has Parkinson's and I love to do little things for him. Especially since his heart and soul, Robin, his wife passed away. Hes the best brother in the world. Unless I'm talking to my other brother, Daniel, then I would say he is the best brother in the world lol......(I have some great brothers and sisters)

Oooo not for everyone, I don't do hot spicy, Jalapeno's blister me but hey you can't please everyone all the time, LOL Merry Christmas♥🎄🎅🏼🎄♥But hey my family can enjoy.

Deborah, the nice thing about this dip is that you can adjust the amount of candied jalapeños to your taste. I would suggest you start with just a small spoonful, taste the dip, and decide if you want to add more. Melissa and I do not like hot foods either. We don’t feel like this is hot at all, but it is a little spicy. I think you could adjust this to your own liking and be very happy with it. Thank you for watching our video!

Stephanie, we absolutely love the Crossville and Cookeville, Tennessee area. Melissa and I enjoy staying at Fairfield Glade in the fall and hiking the many wonderful trails in that area. Also, we have found many wonderful restaurants there. You are very blessed to get to live in such a beautiful area. Thank you for watching our video! If you ever make it to Simonton‘s Cheese House, please tell them that we mentioned them on one of our videos. Merry Christmas!

@ I will tell Simontons Cheese you mentioned them. I really love that place. So many quaint places here. Would love to buy your cookbook but unfortunately I’m disabled (had been a nurse practitioner) and struggling financially and with my health. Your show lifts my spirits.

Was just gonna ask if it was hot........Since not that hot I will have to try it!!!!
@tomwyant929714 сағат бұрын
Jackie, the more candied jalapeños you add to it, the hotter it will be. You may want to start off with a small amount, taste it, and add more until you get to the heat level that you enjoy. Thank you for watching our video!

I love spicey stuff. I was wondering could you replace the mayo with sour cream? LINDA FROM RHODE ISLAND
@tomwyant929714 сағат бұрын
Linda, I have never replaced the mayo with sour cream, but I do think that’s an interesting idea. I do think it would change the flavor somewhat, but that could be interesting. Let us know if you try it and what you think about it. Thanks for watching our video!

Going to Christmas party on December 14 (Mexican food), would taco chips be good with it?
@bowed30518 сағат бұрын
What are taco chips? Are they like tortilla chips? If so, this would be great with those.
@tomwyant929714 сағат бұрын
Yes, Marilyn, I think it would be delicious. Served with taco chips or tortilla chips. This would be perfect to serve with Mexican food. Let us know how everyone likes it. Thanks for watching our video!

OR you can have a son-in-law who makes and cans it, and is generous in giving it to me 😂. I use it with LOTS of foods, just like it was pickle relish! 😁😋

Living in Australia I've never seen candid jalapenos can you use pickled jalapenos instead? By the way love Tom's sweater
@tomwyant929714 сағат бұрын
Karen, I have never made this with pickled jalapeños, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. The pickled jalapeños are probably not going to be as sweet as the candied jalapeños so it may not have the same taste, but I think it would still be delicious. There are many recipes on the Internet for candied jalapeños, and it’s very simple to make. If you would be interested in making your own candied jalapeños, I think you could easily find a recipe online. Melissa and I have already discussed that that probably needs to be a video that we make soon since many of our subscribers, have asked about how to make them. We appreciate you watching our videos and being a part of our KZbin family.

Thanks for this recipe. I specifically grow hot peppers each year to make multiple jars of Cowboy Candy, I started chopping some of my peppers to make rattlesnake relish so will grab a jar of that relish to mix this up. My kids will so enjoy this!

Would really love to get your cookbook but Amazon in Canada says that it is unavailable, so sad.
@tomwyant929714 сағат бұрын
ms.stitcher, I am so sad that our book cannot be shipped to Canada. It really does hurt me that our Canadian friends, and we have many, cannot get our book. Amazon has told us repeatedly that the shipping cost is way out of line with the cost of the book so they can’t ship to Canada. I even checked with our Postal Service to see if I could personally ship our book to Canada and found that the cost of shipping one book is more than $40. It’s insane! I am so, so sorry that we can’t ship out of the United States. We have friends who live literally right on the Canadian border. Melissa and I got T-shirts for them when we were in New York City. I tried mailing the T-shirts to them when we got home and found that shipping two T-shirts to Ontario was going to cost almost $50 in shipping. I do not understand it!

If your group doesn't care for the heat. Could l use a can of green chiles?
@tomwyant929714 сағат бұрын
Carly, you can, but it will not have the same taste. The candied jalapeño is sweet so this dip has a slightly sweet flavor. What I would suggest instead of using canned green chilies is to use a lesser amount of candied jalapeños in the dip. Honestly, Melissa and I do not like a lot of heat either but we do like this dip. The more candied jalapeños, you add, the hotter it’s going to be. Also, you can buy mild candied jalapeños that will be much less hot. I hope you can find a way to make this work for your family. Thanks for watching our video!

It has been bitterly cold in Kentucky this week, sturgisbaby9050. We have had snow and temperatures in the low 20s. I am not a fan of this weather in any way, shape, or form, but it’s what we’ve got so I’m trying to survive through it.😂 Thank you for watching our video.

@tomwyant929711 сағат бұрын
Carolyn, you do not need a mixer for this recipe. You absolutely can do it using a bowl and large spoon or a spatula. Just make sure that your cream cheese is at room temperature. We hope you enjoy this dip as much as we do. Thank you for being a part of our KZbin family.

I've never had nor heard of candies jalapenos. So is this dip sweet tasting, like a jelly with some spice? Guessing it is different than a sour cream based dip?
