I just made your Baked Ravioli Casserole. Like you, I can never find the frozen ricotta & spinach ravioli, so I improvised a bit: I used the frozen cheese ravioli and layered on fresh spinach leaves on top of the first layer of ravioli (a couple of very generous handfuls of spinach leaves) and then proceeded as directed in the recipe. Turned out great and helped me get more veggies into my diet!

I would like to say that you cleaning out you mixing bowls ,I and many people notice and many other cooking channels do not think that is an issue. To get the ingredients close to exact to the recipe you have to do that, great on your behalf.I do not waste very much in my life that makes me notice things like that! I do not comment on everything I see on your channel but I watch a lot! Thanks for your offering.

Tom, may I suggest building your casserole in a plastic wrap lined dish - the one you intend to bake it in eventually. Freeze it. Then use the cling wrap to remove the now frozen casserole from the dish thus freeing up your dish. You could then wrap it up further in the plastic now that it is solid and then foil to prevent freezer burn and add to a bag even .

Paul, these are great suggestions. Thank you for taking the time to add them to the comments. We appreciate that you've watched our video.

Ha, I do this with all kinds of things, even stews. They stack up a lot easier minus the pan and take up less freezer space. If you’re making smaller portions you can slide several onto a big freezer bag for long term storage. Drop it back onto the pan after its unwrapped and presto, dinner. It’s a great tip to share.

This looked so good, I couldn't wait till I got all the right ingredients to at least try to make it as close as I could with what I had. So, I substituted tomato sauce with my brother's yummy salsa. Also couldn't find the spinach cheese raviolis so I used cheese ravioli & added a couple layers of frozen chopped spinach. I know it's not the same but it was pretty good.... Can't wait to try the real thing.. Love you guys & Melissa, you have the cutest accent.I know you're both from KY but your accent is just a tiny bit more🤗

Another good way to keep your cheese from sticking to any cover or foil is to spray the underside (the side closest to the food) with baking spray. Just like it helps food release easy it does the same thing for cheese or any other toppings that might stick. Sure looks good. Enjoy it on your trip.

It’s been a while, but I make a similar recipe we call Ravioli Lasagna. Thanks for the reminder. I’ll put ravioli on my next grocery order. I usually add browned ground beef to the pasta sauce. I would use the ravioli with meat, but it is usually Italian sausage, which neither of us care for. If I’m really feeling lazy, I’ll just dump everything but the cheese in the crockpot, heat it up, and top it with cheese at the end, and cover until the cheese is melted. Not as good as baked, but easy.
@cynthiaamitrano8915 Жыл бұрын
It’s not a very attractive “lasagna” or casserole anyway, but it is very good. Maybe you’re just buying the wrong Italian sausage. Many of them are awful. Some butcher made sausage can be very good. The sausage comes in three types, mild, sweet and hot. I like hot the best, but generally use a mixture in my dishes and soups. The hot just adds so much more flavor. Johnsonville Italian sausage is very good and comes in links or bulk. You can also make your own with ground pork. It’s very simple. Yummy.

I make this very similar at least every two weeks! It just me and hubby so I use one bag of ravioli, one jar if sauce and whatever cheese we have. It so simple I don't make extra and freeze because it takes only a couple minutes to assemble then bake it. You are correct, no need to thaw ravioli but I do let them set out for an hour so they don't stick together. Super simple!

Sounds and looks wonderful. I always cooked the frozen pasta and water first to get rid of some starch. I use beef ravioli. But I also fry up some grown hamburger and put that in my sauce with some onions to make it To make a harder meal. A couple pointers. If using a tin foil PAN, it could burn Easier because of the thin type of pan. Being How full that pan is. Just lift the edges at the end.And I will be a little higher. A great rule of thumb is tomatoes.Have a lot of acid in them. So using tin or a black Enamel type Is pan of any sort..... Never is ever put tomato base in it. Like a cast iron. No. I grew up with miracle maid pans and pots. It will eat away the block from it. You have to live it to know it. Is very very true. So , if a recipe says for a certain pen and you use a tinfoil , lower the temperature and lessen the time. Been there done it many many times. Great rule of thumb. Enjoy cooking. When you ask why why. It doesn't hurt to learn every single day. Enjoy and love cooking.....😊😊😊😊😊

I can't wait to try this! I'm going to pass it along to a friend who's a young 1st time mother of a toddler, I've tried that brand's chicken fettuccini alfredo, and a ravioli-can't remember which type, but both were good, I do remember that!! It's a bit pricey to me though, but good for a quick meal with leftovers for me. You just gave me a good idea when talking about meat; adding some sliced or crumbled Italian sausage would be a nice addition. I may try that only after trying your way first! Thanks again for a great recipe. I'm glad you and Melissa had a safe trip to your life at being snowbirds in the south !!

I am new to your channel & have enjoyed the few I've seen so far. We have used that brand of Ravioli for years & love the Italian Sausage as well as the Lobster Ravioli. We use an Alfredo sauce for the lobster one & it's fantastic. We have also used a garlic butter with it as well & it's similar to a shrimp scampi taste. Perhaps you'd like those as well. I grew up in a suburb of Cincy & have family in the Louisville area but I have lived in the Atlanta area for years now. My parents were from Bedford & Milton, KY. What a small world. 😊❤
