Peanut Butter Butterscotch Rice Krispies Treats
6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
4 Tablespoons salted butter
2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 cup butterscotch chips
10 ounces mini marshmallows
Grease an 8 inch square pan with butter or spray with nonstick baking spray unless you are using nonstick foil to line the pan.
Melt the butter in a medium to large sauce pan over low heat. Add the creamy peanut butter and stir well. Stir until the peanut butter is completely melted.
Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and boil for one minute.
Add the butterscotch chips and stir constantly until they melt.
Pour the marshmallows into the pan and stir until just melted. Remove from the heat. Add the Rice Krispies Cereal and stir to coat the cereal.
Press in an even layer in the prepared pan. Set aside to cool for at least one hour before cutting.

That’s the way I’m used to having them too! I made a double batch about 2 weeks ago and shared with my brother and sister in law and their 3 almost grown children…they LOVED them and talked about how great they were for more than a week! Then I took some to my neighbor on the other side who just split up with his girlfriend, I thought some yummy treats would help him, I hope he enjoyed them, haven’t seen him since. The rest were for my son and myself, and we enjoyed every last one of them! We lost my momma, it will be 2 years ago in October, my brothers comment was perfect because mom used to make these for us - he said it’s like a time machine for the mouth and brain and he felt mom when he ate it…that made me happy to hear❤. I’ve not tried this kind, I’m afraid I’d miss the ganache on top 😢

I just made regular rice crispy treats my twist this time was 2/3cup of mini M&M's. They look like little jewels in the RCTreat. Because I'm a 66 yr old woman who most of my adult life has been allergic to peanuts I can't do yours. But thought you might like to know what I do. Last Christmas I found cut red, green, gold and silver balls and cut the treats in chrismas tree shapes and decorated with the little balls too. Will do these if my nieces and nephews come visit.😊

I love listening to your videos! I am blind and you give lots of details when you are preparing a dish. I can't wait to make this recipe. I just bought some marshmallows and was thinking of some ways to give them more flavor. BTW, once you place the mixture in your dish, you can use parchment paper to press it down, this works like a jewel. Keep on cookin'

I always use the wrapper from the butter, works perfectly! However I did read recently that if you pack them down too tightly it makes them tough, but you do need to get them somewhat flattened just to look right. 😊

I have a LaCreuset skillet. It’s a 10 inch I think. It’s non stick and I bought mine at a very good price from an online store. Forget which one. It was such a good price I couldn’t resist. It’s been the best skillet I have. It’s cooks so evenly. Wish I could afford many more pieces. I’ll just have to wait for great sales! Thanks for this recipe! Shades of 70 years ago! Fred Meyer (Kroger to most of you) didn't have mini marshmallows so I took a pair of scissors and a glass of cold water and cut 10oz of whole marshmallows into quarters. I can remember my mother having me do this years ago before mini marshmallows were a thing. Tom, it would be nice if you would suggest another recipe that uses the leftovers. I can't find a small can of sweetened condensed milk, so I have 1/2 can left, but won't make this recipe again probably for several months. The same with extra egg yolks and whites. I know I could save the eggs for the next days breakfast but somehow that never seems to work out.
