I’m dreaming of buying a 40ft BlueBird Flat Nose Diesel Pusher this summer. I’ve watched numerous DIY videos of bus conversions and have learned many hacks from them all! I have found out that wood chips and saw dust trumps Peat Moss every time keeping the smells at bay in a composting toilet! I’m certainly going to give those two a go in my DIY composting toilet! Also drilling 2in holes in the plywood under neat your mattress keeps mold from growing on the bottom of your mattress. That or just building narrow wood planks to keep the air flow under it. Just things I have learned in the last few months and I’m still learning! Love your bus and the build! What a marvelous find of cutting your own wood slaves for your counters!

Installed two mini splits in our home this summer by myself I'm a pretty accomplished mechanic and an avid DIY guy. The install was straight up easy, and the wife and I are very pleased with them.

Can't wait to see how the kitchen is going to turn out in your next video. The wood you cut from the tree is going to look good and putting on the stuff that makes it shine will make it look even better. I've seen a lot of bus tours that have done that and it looks cool. I hope have a nice time staying in it for one week and having AC finally working. Your cats are so cute and I hope they have a good time too.

Hi Sharee, the 110v runs straight back to our circuit breaker - there is no “plug” for this style of mini split. We will be adding a 30 amp quick disconnect between to minisplit outdoor unit and the breaker box soon

With my 12k and my 9k in hot weather at night I'll pull about 2000-3700 watts @ 24v. I have 3200 watts on roof and 13kwh lipo4 battery bank. I still need more battery. During hot sunny days I can break even and still maintain 90-100% battery. It's the hot hours after peak sun that drain the bank. But I can go all night. ;P

As always another great vid ! How many solar panels did you install by the way ?
@jimbooth33 жыл бұрын
I've been wanting to ask ever since you started wiring; why haven't you invested in a pair of dedicated crimpers instead of using lineman's pliers? Easier to use, more positive results and certainly easier on finger/hand joints. I spent 8 years wiring passenger and freight elevator controllers and wouldn't have lasted a week using my pliers to crimp terminals.

beautiful wood. nice job on the mini-split hookup. With it placed in the rear, do you find it has any trouble blowing air to the front of the bus or having the front sitting area getting cool enough? thx
@maxfastest3 жыл бұрын
The mini split has two awesome setting that can help move air up front. One is the follow me button on the remote, that tells the unit to make the temp at the remote's location The other is the turbo button ! It will bring on the super high speed fan

@olbird76473 жыл бұрын
@@RimdarRanch maybe you wouldn't if it were yours but their bedroom doubles as their work studio so a murphy-style bed is the best way for them to have the space they need. The bedding stays strapped to the mattress as the base is lifted up or down so it's not prohibitively hard or time-consuming at all really. Plus the bed can always be left down when work space isn't needed.
