I think it had some to do with what you have said, but I simply don't find this song as special as others. I listened for a while before writing this comment. I would not use this song personally! Maybe it needs a little more something to give its style, i dont know, felt too boring even for the type of song it is. Reminds me of lofi too, heh heh. I do think it has some coolness tho. I like some of the little background sounds. Not a song i will go back too probably!

Since I started listening to your music I've started playing the Resident Evil series. It's incredible to feel connected to the feeling of ethereal stillness that comes from being able to finally relax. I've had so much trouble relaxing in general in my life, and it's that feeling of relaxing in spite of the stress and fear that makes it feel possible. Thank you.

That's what the save rooms taught me as well. Overly explicit and too peaceful music à la "relax, now, at all costs!" never worked for me. Life isn't like that, there's always something out there waiting.

We, nostalgic people, are always chasing that feeling, trying to feel again what we felt back then. Different times, friends, family... Much less worries or none at all. But the truth is that we can never go back. It's sad, but at the same time it's awesome that we could make such amazing memories through these moments, and they will stick within our minds and hearts to the rest of our lives. Besides, despite not being able to go back, at least we can replay those classic games that will NEVER get old just like our memories ❤

I used to listen to this all the time a few months back, just playing alone, or minecraft with friends. It was always very comforting. I'm not sure when I stopped, but, life changed very suddenly... not long ago I had a bad panic attack, and some part of my brain just remembered the melody of this song. It took me a good while to find it again, and it was nerve wracking not finding it and not remembering the name, but eventually I did. It really helped me feel better, and now I've been listening on loop for an hour and a half, just like back then. It never fails to give me a feeling of peace and safe comfort. Thank you, really, from the bottom of my heart ❤

I don't know why, but this evokes a feeling of nostalgia, calm and loneliness. Like in the image, looking at preserved items, not a memory, but the actual items from a time when things were fun, colorful and easier. So you try to go back to those times after a long day by "putting them back in their place, trying to re-enact the magic". And maybe the console still works fine, the old TV works like wonders, the controllers, albeit slightly jonky from all the years of use, are still useful. And the games are still functional; some with the save datas you left behind from maybe 8, 10 or 12 years... even if you think it's been less than that, like 4 years top. You put them on, play a little bit, and while the magic is still there, the dopamine isn't kicking like when you used to be 12. Even if it's a free day tomorrow and you got no plans and finish the game you're playing on a sitting... you still don't feel good, you feel somewhat empty. Then you turn off the console, look around that familiar scenery which is your old TV with static, an old generation console and the game you just played; all at the middle of 3 or 4 a.m.... but you realize you're the one who's different. And it isn't as easy as "you grew up and outgrew those games" it's more complicated than that. You give that familiar scenery that used to make you happy in the past a last watch that lasts like 5 minutes, and then pack everything away to keep going with your life. Looking forward, yet procrastinating for the day you put your old belongings back in their place and try to re-enact the magic of the past once again. That's the vibe I get from this.

I used to play a Minecraft heh heh. I fought teamers and exploiters in this free for all pvp server because they were "evil" I thought. I had crappy PC equipment and forgot most of my muscle memory of the server every other week, since I went to camp. Despite the crappy equipment I had, I learned really fast. The reason for this was because I went for groups of people called teamers, in fact even before I hated them I was a teamer magnet in any game I’d ever played. Now these teamers are quite the complex creature, one which even I never truly understood. They would stand together in the server doing nothing until someone attacked them, then they would proceed to annihilate that individual, spawn on top of them using pay to win functions, and trash talk them for however long it took until they left the server, in which case they would go back to standing around. Most players were smart and avoided these animals whenever possible, but I was furious to see the state of the server, which was the best video game I had access to. And it made me sad to see people just trying to play a little Minecraft, but end up getting bullied by these angry people. I decided to myself the only way to use the server was to make these people the core enemy. As it turns out this went hand in hand with my long breaks from the server since it gave me the opportunity to learn rapidly. I eventually mastered these creatures through map knowledge and experience developing strategies of fighting multiple people. Sometimes it took literal hours of struggle and taking trash talk, but I always managed to kill them all at once eventually, which was what I considered victory. And after every hard fought session of trash talk and toxic exploits, I would leave with a smile on my face because I felt like I was the only person who would get to experience the true potential that that server had of fun, something I accomplished ironically by embracing what made it an utter waste of time in the first place. I do not like going back to this game because I need to finish my school and the stress would not be worth it to get good enough again since I would never beat my funnest sessions anyhow. Also they are somewhat unplayable since more and more people are using them as dating simulators instead of a pvp game. Or at least I kinda hope that is what they were doing, it would be a little better than playing the game only to stand still and look cool and trash talk like some kids at a skatepark. There were a few other games that I played like this, some I would even call more fun. But this Minecraft server I have spoken of was the one game I knew in which the toxic players had some skill to bully you with (some of which I could not even touch; they were so good), the maps were big enough to allow many strategies to be discovered, and I’d usually have only 4 or less people after me at one time, making my objective feasible. I probably should not have been so passionate about a video game as I was, but it was really really fun to overcome the challenges while it lasted!

I don't know about everyone else, but for me, this song is giving me vivid Backrooms vibes. There is that floating liminality in the air that is both eerie and nostalgic... It provides a very sweet, yet bizarre comfort. Strangely, though, I feel like I've heard this song before.... somewhere in the past? I'm not sure. But it speaks to me in an indescribable way that not many songs do, and mind you, i am a very picky listener. And i find absolutely no issue in the production, the low case and soft bass, the drone, the harp, everything is just perfect and did come together so nicely!! What this song leaves in my mind, is a feeling of being with a dear person of yours, a world with empty spaces, the feeling of being solitary while sinking into derealization and a fearful dream of being lost inside the liminal spaces of The Backrooms, with no exit to be found I'll keep it as an inspiration for a book i am writing!!! Overall, congrats❤😊
@SurvivalSpheres Жыл бұрын
I get lost in the backrooms as well from time to time, and also liminal spaces. I didn’t really aim for it but maybe the artificial / facade-like aspect carried over into the music so people like you, with a similar perspective, notice it quickly. Happy to see another writer on board.

Out of all your tunes, I find this one the most bittersweet, simultaneously mournful and relieving. Time is the greatest healer and nostalgia the greatest counsellor, in the (paraphrased) words of General Patton: "It is foolish and wrong to mourn the dead, but rather thank God that such entities lived." The joys of old have aged, they may seem primitive to one's evolved eyes, but they allowed us to grow.

"...where did it all disappear to?" ...It never left. You just have to focus on the good stuff to recall it 😉 Really love this. Those subtle low frequency sort of bubbling sounds compliment the 'no signal' fuzz of the CRT TV, and are really cool. There's a cold emptiness to this too. Like when you have a lovely memory of the past, but then you remind yourself that you can't make more memories like that anymore. You've got to keep moving on, no matter how insurmountable that challenge feels at times. That leads me on to the other part of the brilliant symbolism, on the magazine cover on the left it shows *TURN THE PAGE! >* well it's sort of like a message of encouragement, for you to open a new chapter in life. Life is a state of flow and change after all. If the pages aren't turned, the new ones can't be written and just go to waste. If only it was as easy done as said all the time hey... On the magazine to the right too, there's an advertisement for Bobbing Head Dolls, which makes me think of things that are commonplace in society, like how many people read and hear things and just nod. People rarely question anything anymore, and that's how the scum bags of the World so easily manipulate the many. More often than not, the people on the receiving end of the manipulations are decent hard working people just trying to make it through the day and trying to make an honest living. But until the heads stop bobbing away, and they unlock a bit of good old fashioned cynicism for their arsenal, that'll sadly be the status quo of a lot of society.
