Comgo March 2023 tech session, '70 MGB SU fuel pump replacement

Central Ohio MG Owners March 2023 tech session was held at my shop. This time we replaced the original points style SU fuel pump with a new solid state SU pump on a 1970 MGB. Once again, it was filmed for the benefit of members who were not able to attend and anyone else who may be interested group tech session style video

Well done, and thank you, especially for the remarks about pressure from various pumps. I live at 6000 feet elevation in the Colorado mountains and often drive over mountain passes up to 11,500 feet. At these elevations, pump pressure varies from 85% down to 65% of normal sea level performance, as it's dependent on the atmospheric pressure to push fuel out of the tank. I found that cheap inline pumps, even those claimed to be "low pressure," usually flood SU carbs. The Facet cube sold by Moss, nominally 2.7 psi at sea level, tests here at 2.1 psi and starves the carbs when driving up a steep hill -- at the top of the pass, if it ever got there, it would push less than 1.7 psi. Now waiting on the SU solid-state pump to install this weekend and I hope it will work. Funny thing is I never had these problems with my TR4. That was fifty years ago and I don't recall what kind of fuel pump it had.

Can I ask where you get your fuel pumps? Mine has been replaced with a one size fits all.

I’ve been getting mine from Moss Motors ( I’m a Moss distributor) I know a lot of people just go directly through Burlin Fuel Systems ( the manufacturer of SU stuff these days). But
