I might need to give this printer a try, since I'm a huge Sovol fan and have more than a handful of their printers (I'm really digging my SV07). Digging the puns, too! "Benchy-shaped object" is my new favorite phrase. I'll have to watch Sovol's build video, since I'm very curious about the back side of the printer and I didn't catch any views of it.

Yeah I'm glad it had settings for the T500.

Great video, amazing looking VSV model! I published well tuned Orca Slicer profiles in my recent video about the T300, including much improved pre-print macros by Christian Vick. I don't really recommend the stock T500 Orca presets, since that machine has very different acceleration/jitter values and even the extruder/nozzle is different, so the retraction values also need to be customized for the T300. I am so happy to see you like this printer too!

Thanks - hood video. Do all 3 axis have linear bearings? What is inside the Z-columns? Screws or belts? It is correct that only one of the 2 columns Z-axis has a drive?

Great video as alwaty, I guess my only niggle is that I would quite like to have seen a benchy done using Orca slicer. Just so we could get a direct comparrison between that and the Comgrow cura slicer. But the car is so cool.

Thank you for this nicely balanced review. I am a bit disappointed that so many of the consumer-level printer manufacturers are still obsessed with these open-frame bedslinger PLA/PETG/TPU printers that really are not much different than the printers of a few years ago. I really like Sovol; my Sovol SV05 printer (which is basically a nicely upgraded Creality Ender 5 Pro) has served me well until I replaced it with a Qidi X-Max 3 (which is also serving me well) but I wish they would move on to more capable printers that can print other materials besides PLA, PETG, and TPU. I doubt that I will ever buy another non-enclosed printer again.

Hello, I have been fighting mine since I got it on Thursday. I cannot find any slicer settings that will print without major underside issues

is anyone besides myself having problems in getting this printer to work, I'm a new owner and after 2 months I've had it with this thing. numerous print fails. And yes I've done countless setup and tuning cycles. Am I the only one or have others been fooled into buying one only to have fail after fail after fail?

The print finish on all the prints looks terrible. Layer lines, ringing etc.

Like anything you have to tweak. I have two T500, the big brother of this printer and my prints at .16 look like injection molding.

I am struggling to see why anyone would want this printer today. It's an "okay" printer in a sea of "okay" printers. Having a larger print bed is selling point, but the over printer is just average. I think the markets has spoken -we want high quality printers that print all the time at a competitive price point. This printer is fighting to staying relevant in market that has drastically changed in the last two years.
