I really enjoy the shorts, but I was craving for longer videos, and they finally came out. Since I started to watch this channel, I started paying more attention for lettering stuff, how it can convey feelings, situation, character and personality. I'm doing my onw comics, and thanks to you I decided to make my onw Font to put on my comics, which I had to switch back to the one I made didn't had a Bold and Italics version of it, and after a couple videos I decided that this way of emphasize something was important for my characters 😅 I really appreciate the way you took those comments and made a full video showing a little bit of the lettering history of robots and I really appreciate that. I was looking for robotic fonts today because I needed a font to use in a retro futuristic computer and the robot who was fabricated by the same company, but the robot, who started as just a robot being with no variant of tone of voice but it will slowly getting a little bit of Character, and now I might have a better notion about how I can do this. Sorrh about the big coment, I really need to thank that

Glad to know it inspired something for you! That’s exactly why we wanted to make something longer. So you can see more of the ingredients that lead to the final style of the lettering and use it for your own recipes

How to letter a comic book panel about a robot underwater is one of the most niche things I've ever watched. Love your videos

To the point, well explained both in speech and visuals: you can just see the effort and the extra miles put in this video (I would still say this even if I didn't see the community posts before). Learning more in depth about the comic art feels so nice, especially with such a good presentation. Amazing job, guys!

Wow, I never would have thought to incorporate water bubbles into a speech balloon! This definitely opened my eyes to the possibilities of lettering comics in the future. Lettering was something I always struggled to find a style of that I like, even though it seems like it would be simple: Put words in a balloon with white background. But it's so much more than that! The most creative I've gotten lettering was if a monster was speaking, have the letters appear to drip blood, or something like that.

Genuinely incredible how much education you pack into 13:33. I’ve never been a “serious” comic creator, or even reader, but I’ve always been very intrigued by the science/art of comic layouts & lettering. Your videos really pull at that part of me that loves to put things together visually in the exact right way.

This was such a great tutorial. As I mentioned a while back, I've been inspired to make my own graphic novel (I don't expect you to have rememberred this, btw), and I can get all caught up in many details that I forget some things like the lettering used as a storytelling device. Which yeah, like you said, why not make it comic booky? Otherwise just write prose. The character in my comic has mental illness issues and has vocal hallucinations. So to represent those, and how pervasive they can be, they are not in bubbles but instead fill up the backgrounds in kind of a jumbled mess, which I hope can also create an idea of confusion and anxiety in the reader.
