As someone who grew up with Cars, I love the first movie so much that I randomly quote it in conversation. Learning about racing history and Route 66 history as you get older just makes it even more special. It's a love letter to small towns and racing history. I wish the other sequels did something like that, especially with how the second one has racers from all over the world. Instead we got "Mater's Spy Team Up" and Cars 3 which felt more like course correction and less of a continuation of the first one.
