@@LuucasIckie Yeah, you are right on that but I think what he's getting to is that he is leaning more to Vegeta too much character wise. Normally, Shadow is like calm- headed and not angry all the time for no reason at all. I admit he had a few good reasons to be angry there but most of them are quite easy to look over. Also he I think they are confusing his seriousness with anger and recklessness.

@@Rhutchan6995 and same applies here in IDW, don't get me wrong, I also think it was kinda stupid the way he got infected at the end in the Metal Virus Arc, and wish he had lasted more before he actually got infected, but he never once acter angrily out of place in IDW The only time he got furious was when he encountered Sonic after their last encounter in Windmill Village, and when Starline escaped in the Chao Race Arc, and with a good reason behind that (because Shadow still CAN get angry, at the opening of Shadow the Hedgehog you can see that, he gets angry at a GUN Soldier almost with a murderous look) But all the other times Shadow is always seen calms and recluded, only doing this his way, what he wants to do and believes is right, which basically is what Shadow's all about

So what does IDW have to do with Game Shadow? Ian Flynn stated that the point of the IDW comics was to be more faithful to the games unlike Archie. U see the Sonic series has some parallels with Dragon Balls to which fans will point out and Sega has wised up to that fact and decided to embrace it to go along with its self referential humor. As a result one of the things they decided to do is make Shadow a Vegeta knock off even though that's not who Shadow is. And if u really want to compare Shadow to an anime character he's more like Sauske Uchiha from Naruto a character who was a innocent good person until tragedy and the loss of loved ones put them on a misguided path of vengeance but eventually they realize there wrongs and atone for their sins.

I think it's unfair to blame Shadow for not being able to end with Starline Starline outsmarted everyone he fought before his fight with Eggman, not only Shadow, Starline outsmarted the Chaotix at the end of the Zeti Hunt Arc, Starline outsmarted Zavok, Mimic, Rough and Tumble in the Bad Guys mini-series, and Shadow didn't even got beat by Starline, he let Starline escape at the end so he could help back at Winter Park after Rouge told him about that Starline is a genius just like Eggman is, not as smart, but he still knows his ways to outsmart people he meets, he only got grounded by Eggman because Eggman is "the greatest scientific genius of the world", EGGMAN was the only one who knew all the tricks Starline had under his sleeve by having worked with him, all of the others didn't, Eggman was the only one smart enough to quietly and calculatively listen to all he had to say for him to prepare I think it was silly, I think it was idiotic, I think Shadow should've lasted a bit longer even if he was still infected at the end (which I am okay with, Super Sonic and Super Silver joining forces at the end, and Knuckles fight against Zombot Shadow was worth it), but I still think it's something it's possible to get over with, Shadow is the Ultimate Lifeform, he's supposed to be immune to every known disease, not only that, but after the end of the Metal Virus Arc he accepts he was in the wrong and says he owes one to Sonic for that Not to mention the Urban Warfare Arc which was peak IDW Shadow and made him act just like the games, from the moment Team Dark gets into the scene from the last moment where he like a badass Chaos Control everything to space and watch them blow as fireworks I think there are a lot of moments where I think the characters could've been handled better in IDW, especially Sonic and Shadow, but I still think they're great when you take in consideration the entirety of the comic, they still got lots of cool moments, and the reasons why I like IDW the most and like the comic being taken into consideration to the games, is because of how faithful the comic tries to be to the games, it's visible the effort they put into the comic, it's visible they do a pretty intense research to add things in it, just with the silly small details that I love, things such as Metal Knuckles' design, Fang's hair, Bean liking Soccer, Bean's father being Bin, Jet receving messages from his father during his birthday, and of course I love that the comic mixes so many elements into its story, showing that they didn't forget any detail about this amazing series, we have Wisps, Zetis, Chao, ghosts, Gizoids, we have a lot of different characters such as Cream, Silver, Blaze, Gemerl, Metal Sonic, Omega, we have the expansion of Sonic's world worldbuilding showing the life of citizens and the cities they live in, things like that is what makes IDW enjoyable to me

Hot take: This comic wrote Shadow fine, and fans are overreacting. I don't see the problem with Shadow being a bit stubborn and having an ego. As I was reading, I headcanon'd he was in a funky mood during the zombot arc. That's it. That's why he made bad mistakes; makes perfect sense to me. He never acted outright nasty to others, he just made an error and that cost him. I think that is completely okay and in-character for Shadow. I'm way more concerned with Ian Flynn (an overhyped, mid Sonic writer), character assassinating Espio and Knuckles, making them ruder then they needed to be. And the narrative acted like they did nothing wrong. Espio snapping at Sonic was egregious. Who is he to scold Sonic keeping others safe, when HE and Vector endangered an entire airship of survivors, bringing an infected Charmy onboard (in an easily breakable case). They were "lucky" an already sick mobian snuck onboard, because otherwise, Charmy would have broken out and the infection of all of those innocent survivors would be the Chaotix fault. But Ian doesn't realize or acknowledge this blatant plot hole. I'm not even mad at Espio for his actions, Flynn just had him and Vector act out of character because, sometimes, he stinks at writing. These comics are overhyped and rob Sega of money they could put towards better comics, and its sad.
