After Argylle’s financial failure I’m really rooting for this one. I love Guy Ritchie, Henry Cavill and Alan Ritchson and I hope this movies success will inspire more collaborations between these people. Henry Cavill is one of my favorite actors and I hope he gets to see much success after the witcher and superman fell through. I can’t wait for his warhammer universe and hope it is very successful too.

@@moriamu its pretty complicated. He had three wives, in Poland, Italy and England. He had his last children in his 50s with 18 year old English woman so they are the only ones who had contact with him after the war but they were still pretty little when he died in suicide after he killed one of the young hooligans that attacked him in a bar. He didnt want to die in jail so he killed himself. I even have newspaper article about this incident cause his daughter found it in archives. He was recruited by the British in 1942 in Iran. He was a madman. Demoted in Polish army three times, had romances with wives of his superiors and he was beating officers when they found out. His second wife was Italian opera singer he saved from fire, his English son says it was during one of the S.O.E. operations. Generally he had exactly the messed up psychological profile as the guys in this movie.

@@henry9406 yes, I think basically all we know about SOE is from diaries of the operators. Everything else is classified. His children wanted some documents on him but British army refused. We only know that he was recruited in 42' in Iran and then some small pieces here and there. His children in England after the war were too little to ask and to even remember. (He had three wives and Im descendant of the first wife).

I loved the film, it was a fun take on a real operation. On serious note the members of team were all TRUE heroes; Anders Lassen was awarded a Military Cross & 2 bars (3x MCs) & a posthumous Victory Cross KIA in N Italy in April ‘45. I’ve visited his grave at Argenta Gap Military Cemetery SE of Ferrara. Well worth a visit if you’re passing.

This was tonight's AMC Screen Unseen. What a great movie! Henry Cavil was amazing as always and Allan Richston really had a standout role. Richston absolutely stole every scene he was in. There was great action, great storytelling, and great spy movie elements. It's easy to see how the main character was the inspiration for James Bond. Absolutely go catch this movie in theaters when it comes out. You will not be disappointed!

If you don't think about courageous women jumping behind enemy lines when you think about the SOE then you're a sad person. There's no evidence that James Bond was based on him. There are several potential inspirations, including a Canadian who was trained at Camp X, where Fleming may have trained as well. Fleming also gave Bond some of his own characteristics, etc.
