I remember growing up on the original Batman comics from the 30s to 80s, and the Spider-Man comics from the 60s to 90s.

The Flash costume is not just similar, it's almost identical. It's unbelievable.

Fantastic Four also had Hate Monger that had ray to make people hate each other. The Mandarin later used same type of device in an Avengers Annual. Flash Gordon's Electrician costume is also similar to Captain Marvel's costume although his had no head covering and he added a cape, had yellow armbands instead of Gloves, although Flash Gordon used a cape in some other stories.

the penguin i had heard was inspired by a pack of KOOL's cigarettes had a penguin on it with a smoke and a monacle.... i also believe references to a group known as Cobra who have a cobra island might have come from Shadow pulp/raido program...

That's correct about the Penguin but it's only part of the story. Kane got the idea for the name from the cigarette ad but he gave his writer Bill Finger the credit for fleshing out the character. while doing research,Bill read an article about penguins but was stuck on how to translate it into a character. While walking down the street with his wife on a rainy day, she saw some overweight business men carrying umbrellas and said they looked a lot like penguins and that started the creation of the "Pengy" we know and love to hate today!
