What Spider-Man 4 Could Look Like

Andrew Garfield may be getting all the praise in regards to No Way Home, but let’s not undersell Tobey Maguire’s return. Tobey was the perfect third Spider-Man to bring a sense of wisdom and nerdy gravitas to the whole film. Yes, Andrew Garfield’s Peter was the one who seemed to be in a bad place and needed some redemption in order to find his proper footing, but that doesn’t mean Tobey’s Peter wasn’t on his own journey. The way he helps Tom Holland’s Peter at the end was a great character moment and given that Tobey makes it out of the film alive and gets to return home opens up a lot of doors for the future. Mainly, will there ever be a Spider-Man 4?
Everyone knows that after Spider-Man 3, there were plans for a fourth installment, but after behind the scenes drama for the third film, the whole thing ended up falling apart and the series was rebooted. But now No Way Home has proved that the audience will accept multiple Spider-Men across the multiverse so why couldn’t they make a fourth film starring Maguire? Think about it because it would be perfect! Imagine seeing an older Peter Parker going through a Logan-esque adventure as Spidey and tell me that doesn’t sound like the best thing ever. Imagine seeing what Mary Jane Watson, J. Jonah Jameson and all the other memorable characters would be up to all these years later. And hey, Sam Raimi is right there directing Multiverse of Madness so it wouldn’t be hard for Disney to ask him to make another superhero film. The time is right for Spider-Man 4 and today I’m talking about what the film could be about!

@@cbr I was super excited of course I been wanting Tobey back even when everyone was saying ‘he’ll never be back he’s too old Tom Holland is here to stay’ years ago, but it’s disappointing their entrance is alittle underwhelming they should had showed more reluctance to come back as Spider-Man because of his family & backstory for Tobey instead of just jumping through a portal willingly wanting to help, but I’m just glad to see him and Andrew back especially Tobey he’s the best Spider-Man.

I think Spiderman 4 would be a great way to turn Norman Osborne into...... Iron Patriot like in the comics. Seeing murals of Iron Man around and now being good, inspires him to become him thus finally kick starting a rag tag avengers team. Also, the good thing about Spiderman 4 gap to now is that...... they don't NEED to introduce most or certain characters! I like the Hobgoblin idea, notsomuch the Agent Venom idea. But I think I can beat both ideas, especially given No Way Home's conclusion. Do the Superior Spiderman. Norman and Otto ended No Way Home in a great spot to go that way. As you pointed out, half the side ideas of that arc would slot in perfectly here. I say go all the way. I wanna see more spiderverse... but the coolest thing I can think of is the 3 spidermen getting each of their sinister 6's and the sinister's team up forcing the spidermen to team up for one epic movie. They might even get Miles Morales to join as backup for stealth I've seen multiple versions of the sinister 6 so we could have a multiple different villians and not just the same 6 villians, 3 times.

I think the classic Spider-Man would be a great fit for a horror-themed storyline! The Clone Saga could also be an interesting angle to explore with a spider mutation. And imagine seeing Spider-Men take on werewolves - that would definitely make for an exciting crossover!

Peter wants to retire because age notwithstanding, he IS running a corporation and Jamison has drug his name thru the mud so much, he's not interested in protecting HIS city. Plus, all Spidey's major baddies are cured, therefore, no need to! Then somehow, he gets drug back in....maybe with one of your other villain suggestions. What do you think? 🤷‍♂️

Honestly find a way to bring James Franco back with the new timelines and I’m all game. At this point I’ll take any new Tobey content. Hob goblin would be a great pivot and a second chance to revisit and restore the mess of the final Raimi movie. I honestly felt there was never a need for sandman and venom in that last film and Harry’s arc could have been more profound. Have the death of a goblin be a nexus event also like the death of may/Ben. Who knows maybe cured goblin is now an ally to Peter as they adjust to new goblin timeline? With the repercussions of NWH, who knows where we see him next but I definitely think an adult spidey would be great moving forward for the more gritty MCU team ups and Sony crossovers to come.
