I must admit it's kind of sad but extremely funny that Spider-Man takes a break for the first time and Kingpin manages to rule New York. Like Daredevil's life is ruined just because Spider-Man needed a vacation.

"Hi! I'm Morty Fleischman! Are you an aspiring costumed supervillain? Do you have a thirst for destruction you need to quench but also don't want to deal with the moral quandaries of your actions? Then come on down to Moral Morty's Stun Weapon Emporium! Stun bombs! Stun stone lances! Want to put that Masters Degree in Dance to use but also have an urge to stabbing? Got a pair of pointed shoes with your name on it! Carry the weight of a weapon without the weight of an innocent life! That's Moral Morty's Stun Weapon Emporium on the corner of Fifth and forty-second! Your enemies won't just be shocked when they're hit by your new arsenal! They'll be stunned!"

Ah, classic. The Lee/Romita Sr. has always been one of my favorite Spider-Man runs, or comics runs in general. John Romita Sr. is the GOAT of Spider-Man artists. Even though I was a teen in the 2010s I grew up reading the classic silver age comics and it's still my favorite era.

@24:11 You see Mr. Burns, I mean Mr. Osborn, this is what happens when you get too big for your britches. You declare yourself “The Master of Crime”, you then attempt to block out the sun over your fair city, next you hire goons to commit petty crimes, all to lore out Spider-Man, just so you can successfully find out his secret identity, and while you’re doing all of this, you are also plotting to steal candy from babies. In the end Spider-Man still beats you, and you get shot by a baby when you try to take her lollipop. “Wallow in my own crapulence” is a quote from Mr. Burns in the second part of the 2 Part Simpsons episode Who Shot Mr. Burns.

Peter Parker reminds me of myself sometimes. I can be selfish, yes, but, I also try and help people out the best I can. Spider-Man is the everyman, goes through struggles that a lot of people tend to go through in day to day life. Most people relate to him because of the stuff he goes through

Maybe it's the holiday season that's got me feeling a bit shmaltzy, but having been treated to so many wonderful retellings over nearly a decade now, I just want to let you guys know that it's always a treat when a new video gets posted and you make a lot of work days far more tolerable. And I love that the show has gone from teaching Ben and Ethan about seminal stories to the point where they (and of course, the fantastic Tiffany) provide such fantastic call-backs and insights. So, in summation, thank you very much for another year of delight and I hope y'alll (and Danielle, the oft-hidden member of the team) have a fantastic holiday season.

If I remember right the Green Goblin calls his glider a broomstick because he once literally rode a broomstick. When he first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man 14 he rode a long, thin rocket that kinda looked like a broom. It only was in one issue before Stan or Ditko changed it to the more familiar glider. Honestly it's a silly, often overlooked part of the character's history.
@SpookyGhost112 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this! Nowadays people get the idea that Peter is just a goody two shoes, which really just makes him a bland and generic hero who makes jokes. Reading the original Stan Lee run on the character just reminds you of who Peter actually is, I wish more people were aware of it.

So here's a request I think you could have fun with. Time Masters : Vanishing Point - The Search for Batman. Even the title is fun. I'm reading this just now, and it's crazy and unpredictable enough that it could be a fun story time. I guess it's a Booster Gold story, but Superman and Green Lantern are in it. Also some guy we're supposed to care about named "Rip Hunter". It is I guess an event that happened right before Flashpoint. As for Spider-Man. I love the classic stuff. I like how Spider-Man kept his powers even when he gave up being a hero, which was always something which bothered me about Spider-Man 2. Don't get me wrong, I think that's the best Spider-Man movie ever made, but it always bothered how his powers inexplicably go on/off. He should have just kept his powers but get rid of the costume like in the comics
@loganthomas24212 жыл бұрын
I agree. There was one issue where he kinda lost his powers but it was because he had overwhelming guilt and never really acknowledged the death of Uncle Ben which I thought would’ve worked a lot better in the movie

Whenever I see a graphic novel or comic of Spiderman, I instantly think of a high schooler or college-aged character that is like a pure version of Dick Grayson/Nightwing. I'm speaking as a DC fan who reads exclusively DC material but I think the comparison still works. Peter Parker just appears to be a really genuine kind of guy who wants to make the world a better place but he is flying off of the seat of his pants most of the time and doesn't have enough life experience to hone his skills. I don't know maybe I'm wrong but Peter Parker reminds me a lot of Dick Grayson when it comes to bad luck and awful supervillain always breathing down their neck 🤷🏼♀️.
