@@brandon1942 Yeah he's still a villain, but it's implied Thinker tortured the conquering mindset into him (Thinker did name him conqueror after all). At the end of his life, Starro said he was happy floating in space away from people. Starro is kinda meant to be similar to the Squad, an abuse victim who is lashing out at others, only unlike of the Squad, his lashing out is incredibly more destructive. Also, he doesn't seem to be interested in anything other than Corto Moltese, originally ignoring the Squad and saying he wanted the city (NOT the world). The Thinker was trying to use him in an attempt to control the country's populace, and Starro is doing just that, kinda like how Harley was originally a good person but was tortured by the Joker into thinking just like him

As far as John Cena in Bumblebee goes, in the original cut of the movie shown in test screenings he was a very serious, cut-throat character. Then in the reshoots they made him a more comedic character instead. So in the final version of the movie there's bits of both versions of his character in there that inherently do not work together which makes the character come across weirdly.

I think half the advertised cast dying right away kind of threw me and I was in a bit of a weird state the rest of the movie. I didn't really know who anybody was, but I would have liked to see more of their skill sets throughout more of the movie. I expected most of them to die, but just not so quickly. I may need to rewatch it after it's more easily accessible for me now that I kind of know what to expect. There's plenty of fun characters, moments, scenes, and visuals that I liked, but storywise, I'm not sure I was as into it. I'm not a huge fan of Guardians of the Galaxy, but I love Vol 2., so I either just need to give this one another shot, or maybe the next movie will be more resonant with me should James Gunn make another Suicide Squad movie, I don't know.

I’m confused how some think this is not like GotG….it has so many similarities to Guardians. You can almost look at the characters and say, “Ok, that’s Groot, that’s Rocket, oh there’s Quill” The 70’s music that plays throughout… It’s an R rated GotG…that’s the best way to explain the movie to a friend asking about it.

I don;t want the sequel to have a villain. I really don't like how Hollywood trying to make them into heroes somewhat. I both liked and disliked this movie. I was taken aback by the gore, it reminded me of the most extreme of DC comics where Superboy Prime flies through, I forget who. Or maybe it was Black Adam. Anyway, it took me out of the movie to the point I was asking myself, “What is the message the filmmaker wants me to take?” Then I would think about the gore in Fulci and suddenly several scenes have gone buy. And then the Thinker, I liked Peter Capaldi’s performance but I kept thinking he was leading the anti-heroes into a trap that was never sprung.

I watched this before seeing it with my daughter, whose mother loves slasher flicks. I love zombie movies but can't do Saw (torture porn). It was "worse" gore wise than I expected but I didn't feel like it was excessive. You made me realize that with DC having Superman break someone's neck, this felt more earned as it's the name of the game. People ARE gonna die. It's not kid friendly, and I appreciate that.
