Welcome back to Comics FOREVER! It's time for some spooky comics as we ramp up to Halloween!
First up, to honor Spooky Season, BENEATH THE TREES WHERE NOBODY SEES by Patrick Horvath! This perfect blend of cute and blood curdling took tiktok by storm, and for good reason! This story follows Samantha, the lovable hardware store owner in a small town.. who also happens to be a serial killer. But when another killer intrudes on her turf, she has to find the killer before the cops find her! The juxtaposition is quite jarring, and the violence does not pull its punches!
Next, DRACULA: A STORYBOOK PORTFOLIO by J.H. Williams! This absolutely gorgeous book is a unique exploration that blurs the line between art portfolio and narrative storytelling. Is it an art book? Yes. Is it a comic book? Also yes! J.H. Williams' art is such a spectacular site to behold that I would gladly fork over my hard earned money for simply a collection of his gothic-themed paintings. But the maestro himself was kind enough to also write accompanying prose for these paintings. And there's over 150 pages! It is a bloody feast for your eyes
