I LOVE how Odin is still somehow being the possessive manipulative father he always is, even though he’s literally just a hammer. Like when you think about father/son duos generally it’s like the father is the leading figure while the son is more supportive. In this case though the father is literally a hammer being used by the son. Just the fact that Odin is somehow the one still calling the shots here is so funny to me and PERFECTLY illustrates how their relationship has always been.

And later king thor killed hulk and thing without mjolnir in an alternate universe. This thor is super nerfed compared to free years back of king thor. Ik hulk is super op at present

Let's compare strength feats since wrestling is a bout of skills and strength and not strength alone. Hulk vs Nightcrawler in his own domain in Tales to Astonish 616 continuity... classic Hulk deflects a universe busting attack from Nightcrawler and sends destruction upon an *INFINITE* cosmos. Donny Cates is one of us. This story isn’t bogged down with setting up fight with another, superfluous story. He isn’t trying to have long, drawn-out motivations for why they’re fighting. That scene where they have fighting game health bars is everything you need to know. Cates knows that we just want to see them fight, and have a loose story that makes sense tie it all together.

R u famous? I've seen your name many times. Is there just one you with this name? I don't remember seeing this picture with this name. Or is it called an avatar? While I'm at it I might as well keep asking questions w/o any introductions or saying "if you don't mind I was wondering if you could please tell me if X..." which would be the correct way to ask a stranger to fork over personal information but it's too late for that now. @@apostolostvable Maybe it is my long experience with comics that I just don't ever expect certain things from certain characters. Thor has a wisdom in compassion but when it comes to overall intelligence he's never been known for it. Thor was never written as wise even when he was at his most powerful he was never the most intelligence. Thor was and still is written as noble and compassionate and is always pushing the rock of humility up the hill. Over the last few years his compassion and humility have allowed him to make choices we perceive as wise. Depending on how Marvel wants to spin it he's only recently attained humility after Donald Blake picks up hammer. (Continuity on WHEN some origins happen keeps changing as we get further from the original event. As an example as time goes on Cap was frozen in ice longer and longer before he was found.) Prior to Odin doing the whole Donald Blake thing to him Thor was an insolent, oafish, arrogant, selfish pain in the butt.

Credit to Bruce in this situation involving himself to partner with Hulk to learn what happens when he blanks out on as the Hulk; but wait a very long pausing minute by no sense of the situation is Thor lacking in a partner his father is at hand. Intelect vs wisdom is about to have their own go at it, comics are a maze sometimes you get the same wall of context with some changes, but I don't recall a meeting between Bruce and Oden with an internal crisis such as this. Also, Celestials get stranger and stranger Nowhere is Knull's handy work, and possibly this severed hand as well, but their species are comprised of energy with a technological shell and yet that hand is quite fleshy with no tech.

Right?? I could see a case for Hulk besting Thor in pure physical combat, but in most cases, Thor rarely ever unleashed the full variety of powers he has against the Hulk, let alone the odinforce. It is really stretching it when Rob said no chance. Debatable sure if we are going purely melee, but a stomp? Ehhhh disagree with Rob there. It would be very disappointing if Cates didn't allow Thor and Hulk to use everything at their disposal with how much he hyped the fight.

Donny Cates isn't that good with power ups. He pretty much turned Venom and Thor into The Sentry at the end of their stories. Venom by becoming a God of light and killing Knull by ripping his armor off in Sentry fashion, and then throwing him into the Sun in a near identical way to the Sentry vs Void fight from 2005. And he literally just gave Thor "the heat of a billion suns", which isn't as much power as a million exploding ones but still, you see what I mean.

Yeah that's something that people always get wrong about the hammer. It's not they can't be lifted by the Unworthy is that it won't bestowed Thor's Powers upon the Unworthy if they are capable of lifting it. The treatment literally said on originally whoever holds this Hammer if they be worthy shall wield the power of Thor. It doesn't say that you have to be worthy to lift it

my favourite moment in comics ever is (even though it didnt really happen) is that what if story if thor was there during the world war hulk event. they fight for a bit but at the end he talked hulk down and basically said he lost everyone he ever loved recently also so he gets it.
