There was a virus or something that made people turn back to their primal states. The Punisher shot the vial and basically set all this in motion by accident. Spidey was just the first infected and showed it off by beating the Rhino to death and eating him like... well a real Rhino. After that everything devolves into cannibal tribal culture etc.

I love how in the end, Thanos admitted that it was ironic that after killing and destroying so much. The best thing he did was give his life and heal the universe. It also felt like this wasn't just some story for a villain to be beaten it was the Thanos redemption story.

My problem with this is...Dr.Strange has been shown fighting cosmic level being by himself and MOPPING THE FLOOR with them. Strange has access to other dimensions, dimensions where their power will not function, and he can easily shift everyone into other dimensions...this is one of his common tactics when dealing with high powered people, shift them around to places where their powers are weaker or function differently, or require different methods to activate. Strange doesn't just think 3 steps ahead, he thinks 300 steps ahead.

What scares me about thanos isn’t what he does, but what he is capable of. When you think about it...thanos is written to be a character who really is the definition of thinker, albeit not that smart sometimes, but jeeeeez does he ever go far in his plans. He wants to have a relationship with death, he wants to be one with power itself, he wants to rule above all, and the scary part is knowing he has found TONS of different ways to do it! The infinity gauntlet and cosmic cube are just two ways, but this man single handily finds dozens of different ways to defeat, usurp, destroy, conquer...his potential alone makes me fear him more than doc doom

I don't believe it is, or if it WAS in canon, then they are ignoring it now. Cause all new all different Marvel, and the Battle World before it, is basically Franklin/Dr.Doom reviving all the heroes into a new multiverse. But what Thanos did would have made that impossible. He would have made it to where even Franklin could not revive people. But we have seen Franklin do just that before, especially with Galactus. If this story was in Canon, Battle World and Secret Wars would not be possible to exist, because Franklin and Dr. Doom would be unable to revive anyone that died. That includes making new galaxy with those people or new timelines and moving them over. It just would not work. As soon as a hero died, he was Perma dead with no way around it. He 'cured' the universe, and fixed the loophole.

popeye697 this story was of late 2003.... and marvel officially stated that this story was not of official continuity .... as at the end everything goes to normal.. even thanos doesnot remember that he was the heart of the universe at one time... and the celestrial orders never discovered it so no celestial order had formed moreover he formed the universe to its old age... and this story has to do nothing with anything ever going in marvel universe and this story will nevwr be related to anything... ever... marvel themselves stated...

In Uncanny Avengers he actually "kills" red skull that's been empowered with Professor X's powers which transforms him into the Red Onslaught. Only cool part of the story though since the Axis event is Meh.

Soetpotatis True, but the Axis event was a hell of a lot better than Civil War 2 (which was the worst event in Marvel history IMO), Monsters Unleashed, and the X-men VS Inhumans events. I enjoyed it. Good and evil heros/villains switching places was cool. Plus Red Onslaught was dope. Not better than the original Onslaught though. Especially since he had Charles, Eric, Franklin Richards, and Xman's powers. That MF was super duper overpowered OP with Xman and Franklin alone.

One thing you missed out on mentioning is how Thanos realized that he needed to recreate the universe before Adam Warlock showed up at the end, but that he struggled with the idea, because creating went against everything that Thanos had ever stood for. He therefore viewed the entire mess as The One Above All tricking him into doing its work for it. This was definitely a good story though, which I only read like two weeks ago. One of Starlin's better works after Infinity Gauntlet.

This may sound weird, but if anyone deserved absolute power, it would be Thanos. Like everyone else in the Marvel universe, he has his own agenda, but whats different with him is that it doesnt take much for him to understand what power really is. Even with this story, Thanos may have had his own agenda rather than being neutral like the other cosmic beings, but he had every right to act in his own accord. He was all powerful. HE made the rules. Right and wrong are determined by him. And to hammer the nail in, he sacrificed himself for the greater good, and as an added bonus, got to spend eternity with the love of his life.

Correction - those heroes Akhenaten had on display actually were *dead*. Daredevil confirmed it by saying he couldn't hear any heart beats from the heroes. Zeus further confirmed it by saying he wanted revenge on Akhenaten for killing Hercules.

The Winning Post to Win Them All(#4). @ Unstoppable Thanos (more like Stoppable Thanos) but i do agree that Thanos stomps CAS soo badly in marvel if CAS went to marvel CAS would be an ant. i dont agree that the regulator would have ANY effect at all in dc. what marvel states within marvel has no authority within in dc, therefore its just useful words and it results in Thanos being an ant there with zero chance. if in a fair fight tho, regulator wouldnt work because middle ground isnt ruled or written by any of them therefore artifacts or divine source power(power of God) which was gained from the written work of their home turf wouldnt work in the middle ground since middle ground has no God theoretically. as its not dc nor marvel, there might be a God there but it isnt associated with any of those characters. so in a fair fight it would be normal Thanos vs CAS a normal combo power of Superman and Ultraman combined. that power combined is more than normal Thanos. and if we tall about normal then it depends on what stage of their normal self. either way Thanos is no match for combo supe and ultra in that same stage of similar normal. easy debate, debate solved. for trolls, a re post. and thats how you win debates :). i knew it would come down to this way of breaking it down, i already did the brainstorming to determine all home turf debates would take this route :). sry Thanos ur better in dc but outside of dc u dont compare at all :). The Winning Post to Win Them All(#1). @Unstoppable Thanos there was no feat of Thanos defeating TOAA nor the Presence. now in my paste it states that CAS defeated Mandrak which was stated in the comics to be above Lucifer and The Presence. Its also stated the CAS is the creation from authority beyond Hotu which was created by TOAA. The Primal Monitor is more powerful than Hotu. TOAA has been seen defeated multiple times therefore Hotu is relatively useless in power scale compared to The Primal Monitor aka basically CAS since Primal out his all into CAS which was stated in the comics that CAS was made to be Primals Greatest weapon above all. with that being stated, Hotu wont come close to stomping CAS which is not only power but also PLOT ARMOR since hes named ThoughtRobot which is stated in the comics to win in any situation which is plot armor much like batman however clearly ideal unlike batman which is a joke since humand cannot compare to superheroes. the fact that CAS is a superhero and plot armo and the creation of the best entity in all the comics hands down, it results in CAS being at the top. not even The Presence could stop Mandrak. it took CAS to bring Mandrak down. CAS is power beyond the comics, hes the power of the white canvas aka The Primal Monitor. infinite power that stomps everything because The Primal Monitor is God himself. the true GOD. and its been debunked that TOAA is God. i use to side with TOAA but now i dont. too many instances in the comics caused TOAA to be nerfed and no longer seen as GOD in modern times. if u do ur article research u will see that The Primal Monitor stands abobe and is ranked above TOAA in the current years. TOAA recieved nerfage while Primal didnt plus Primals concept is beyond all of them. and its stated that HOTU is the creation of TOAA. the fact that its created by a second rate god wannabe, itll never stand a chance against The Primal Monitor or CAS. Thanos usurped The Infinity Gauntlet and the Heart of the Universe which were the most important tools to achieve his ultimate goal. He only transcended his existance when he re created the Universe. The destroyer became the Great Healer. Thanos went against his truest beliefs and desires and cleaned up the One Above All's mess repairing the Universal balance that was being manipulated recycling certain heroes from Death which is extremely careless. Almost all of us want vast wealth. This story can be compared to this. IT WILL NOT bring you ultimate happiness. Look at Jim Carrey. He said it best, "I wish everyone can make 300 million dollars so they can see its all bullshit and NOT the answer." Most people think he's crazy but you can't even conceptualize what the hell he's trying to say. Don't chase things that won't make you better its an illusion. One thing I've never understood in Marvel comics is that whenever they show all of the "sky-fathers" getting together, they never have Jesus or 'God'. Can't recall offhand if they've had Muhammad, but I'm guessing not, for obvious reasons. Are they really so afraid of offending specific 'current' religions? They seem to have no problem 'offending' the older religions - Norse, Greek, Russian, Zulu, Mayan, etc. But modern-day myths, that's a no-go. It just seems weird to me...
