How do you know what readers reactions were specifically? I gotta think Loki at the time was just kind of another villain. Not knocking ya but I am kind of calling you out. Unless you worked at a comic book store or hung out at one every week, there’s no way you’d be able to gauge something like that besides like authors notes or talking to older fans wearing tinted glasses.

I just re-read the entire Siege storyline and it is still one of my favorite arcs of all time. Something I am confused about is where was Odin when all this was happening? Seems kind of weird that he shows up afterwards (Fear Itself #1) with the Uatu looking over his shoulder.

Actually Steve Rodgers becomes Commander Rodgers during the Heroic age. He doesn't go back to being Captain America until the events of fear itself.
