In terms of Riddler's intelligence, I imagine most people sleep on it; Penguin even admits to him (before beating Riddler to a pulp), that Riddler is so smart, he could "give Lex and Mr. Terrific a run for their calculators"

The one bad day one shot with The Riddler is amazing in that it shows Riddler with the brakes off. If Riddler stops having the compulsion to leave clues when he commits crimes he would be near unstoppable and when he comes up with plans for other people you get the killing joke.

Didn’t someone bring Tommy back, like right after this? He was actually Hush, and he has surgery to look like Bruce, to take his place, and it involves Selina, with him taking out her heart one point, so Batman has to do his thing, and somehow ends with Selina alone, with Hush/Tommy, insinuating she’s gonna kill him. It lead to another Catwoman solo book, I think? Isn’t that the run, when Hush becomes a returns?

Some of the best Batman stories ever written are part of that saga... *"Nightwing: The Great Leap"* by Peter J Tomasi is particularly good if you're a Dick Grayson fan.

I'm glad you covered this since they borrowed some themes from this for the new The Batman movie. The Riddler as a serial killer who envies Batman was a great take on how most of Batman's rogues are a twisted reflection of himself.

Hands down one of the greatest Batman stories. Its displays all of Batman's attributes and his weaknesses perfectly. Introduces a great villain, such a spiteful character and yet had the patience and intelligence to manipulate Batman, his friends, families and enemies. Having Jim Lee as the artist is the cherry on top.

Hush is one of the stories that you look to when talking about Batman. Were you really get to explore the intellect of Batman rather than the physical prowess. It makes the story that much more interesting because as a reader when you're reading this sometimes you can be genuinely confused, especially if it's your first time reading and then it all fucking clicks at the end

Love how the true endgame here was to bring Jason back. I’m talking the irl endgame, not the in continuity endgame. It wasn’t just some hand-wavey, half assed storyline told in a way where it’d be obvious that this was the plan. Saw a short of a character called Batman the Silenced I hope you cover. Bruce parents are killed and Thomas Elliott family takes him in. Thomas Elliott actually hired Joe Chill to kill his parents for the inheritance but Joe killed The Waynes. Fast forward years later Thomas is plotting to get the Wayne fortune by having Bruce sent to Arkham who while there tortured for years. Bruce faked his death and became a Batman/Hush hybrid called The Silence

I little correction, the second reason Batman doesn't fear the possibility of Riddler outing his identity isn't because Bruce thinks no one will believe Eddie. It's because Batman knows Eddie's compulsion AND his ego. In order for the Hush plan to work, Riddler had to tell Hush who Batman was...but he gave no one else, not even Clayface, that revelatory info. Why? Because The Riddler always has to be the smartest person in the room. The Bat's identity was a major riddle to be solved, but Eddie won't allow anyone else know the answer. After all, to The Riddler, a riddle that everyone knows the answer to is "worthless".

I always imagine the best way to take down Superman would be to have an exo skeleton that replicates almost every power of Superman with added bits to contract those powers. Magic and alien technology for that added edge to protection and superhuman supplements so he doesn't die once it falls apart.
