I wish they would have done something more fun with this story. In my head I rewrote the Decimation a bit in that all Mutants temporarily lost their powers. In response to this, the X-Men had to go out and steal the powered costumes that were like their powers. Cyclops went out ant stole the Unicorn battlesuit. Iceman got the Blizzard suit, and so on. This would have connected the X-Men to the broader universe, and shown what these bad guys could have been capable of if they had been born with their powers.
@nicolassuero48878 жыл бұрын
Love it!! From here until after A vs. X you get to see the "Cyclops was right " perspictive which I think are some of the best runs of the x-men. It's a shame the "MCU" and secret wars destroyed the x-men continuity. I would have loved to see what the "Summers Revolution" would have brought. X-men Forver!!! inhumans suck !!!

New Mutants/Academy X/New X-Men was one of my favorite comic runs. The team rivalry between the New Mutants and the Hellions, combined with the Buffy-style teen superpower angst, made for a very engrossing read. That is something that should be made into a TV series.

Hey Rob, I'm really enjoying this series. I read X-Men back in the late 70s to the late 80s. So much has happened since I've been away, nothing as intense as House of M, though. Your work has been invaluable to me insofar as I can get reacquainted without spending a fortune on back issues. Please continue this series as I'm getting a lot out of it; and additionally, if you'd please explain what (if anything) has happened to Rogue's powers. I watched other videos on the origin of Rogue and never been properly informed as to her current state of her affairs and powers. RobCore for life!

Question: could any character, say people like Mathew Malloy or Franklin, reverse house of m and give all mutants their powers back?
@barbielf96504 жыл бұрын
That's what I was thinking. Why didn't that happen?
@jorienwachukwu4663 жыл бұрын
@@barbielf9650 Cuz Marvel writers couldn't be bothered coming up with any way to fix M-day other than making x-men fight avengers and using the phoenix. The excuse is that Wanda's reality warping was more powerful than any other, so no other reality warper would be able to undo it except her, and of course children's crusade saw to it that she wouldn't do that until after X-men were made to look like crazy assholes.

all this stuff is like 10 years removed, I imagine that he's gonna talk about everything up until now in regards to house of M. It took them 8 years to "fix" house of M, and then almost immediately they got house of M'd again so but it seems like it's gonna be much less time before it's resolved.

Finally some Sage love! She doesn't get nearly enough attention for how cool she is
@ingonyama708 жыл бұрын
Sage has a lot of potential, but a lot of writers avoid her becase her power is crazy confusing and hard to write. Throughout most of the 90s, she (as Tessa of the Hellfire Club) was generally treated as a straight-up psychic.
@pious837 жыл бұрын
She was part of X-Treme X-Men and *noone* came out of that series better than before they went in. Easily one of the worst X-Men books ever written.
@ingonyama707 жыл бұрын
Eh, it started off good (I like the first two story arcs), then got weird about halfway through. I think Claremont was just throwing side-story ideas at the wall to see what stuck. The practice served him well in the 70s and 80s, not so much in the 2000s.
@pious837 жыл бұрын
+Curt Clark Remember Lifeguard? Slipstream?? .. Poor Claremont and let's be honest here, his Uncanny run that followed X-Treme wasn't much better.
@ingonyama707 жыл бұрын
I don't see what people's problem is with either Lifeguard or Slipstream. Darwin would come along later with pretty much Lifeguard's exact power set and everyone liked him. And Slipstream is a teleporter -- nothing original, but nothing terribly OP either. (again, remember that a few years afterwards, Vulcan would come along and wreck the power curve in a way it hasn't been wrecked since the 90s) Sure, Slipstream was a jerk towards the end, sure, but nothing a ltitle character development couldn't have fixed. Then again, I'm not really that hostile towards Neal Sharra either -- I felt he was another character with a lot of potential who never really went anywhere after Claremont took off. His Uncanny run had its ups and downs (I'll freely admit, I thought End of Greys was the single worst X-Men story I'd ever read, and I suffered through Chuck Austen's run), but it brought Psylocke back and gave her some much-needed character changes. I appreciate that he was trying to make her more than the "boobs-and-butt" ninja chick, and other writers have kept that trend going, at least. I guess it comes down to that Claremont's willing to take risks. They don't always pan out -- Rachel Grey becoming a dinosaur woman was goofy in an early-Bronze Age kind of way -- but they were different, and I appreciate the diference in tone; Whedon's run was going and it was amazing, but kind of bleak, and Adjectiveless was going through writers and team changeups so fast I couldn't tell you who was one the roster, except somehow Lady Mastermind and Mystique got in there...? Which is just ASKING to be betrayed, but eh, I don't pick 'em.

Spoilers: Yeah, there's a lot primarily X-23's origin. She doesn't even have the same mom, and she said all the people she killed deserved to die. Also there's no Marvel influence, the legacy virus was created by someone else. They were able to make an exact Wolverine clone... And of course Wolverine actually died.
@Needausername-e5t8 жыл бұрын
Sean Ritchie it had nothing to do with old man logan.
@TheEssentialHughJazz8 жыл бұрын
Spoilers: X-23 wasn't confirmed to have a different mother: she had a new adoptive mother in the form of Nurse Gabriela, but her name was still Laura Kinney, implying that her biological mother is the same. As for Wolverine's death... There wouldn't really have been much purpose in Logan surviving at this point. The original Old Man Logan arc gave him a chance at redemption in the form of Doom's weird multiverse realm, which is a concept that would not translate well onto the big screen. I thought the movie was good: the only part I didn't agree with (and I would like Rob to analyse) was X-24.
@LeGioNoFZioN8 жыл бұрын
the movie is not old man logan by any stretch
