Nightwing continues to be great, tied with Superman as the best Rebirth book. I'm not a huge fan of Shawn Tsang. We barely got to know her and they had a pregnancy scare and kidnapping. I don't really feel a connection at all to her character or her relationship to Dick. Add to that, DC is still heavily teasing Dick getting back with Babs and I see Shawn as just a stop-gap girlfriend until Dick and Babs realize what they mean to each other.

I don't think DC is interested in the Kory/Dick romance. The only time they have made a big deal over it has been in the (not so great) animated movies. The only hint in the comics was one issue of Starfire and the Convergence event (non-continuity) On the other hand, you can't go 5 issues of NW, BG or BoP without some tease of Babs/Dick. In the mainstream comics, it is pretty clear Dick and Babs will get back together. However, I don't see a chance they will pair Dick up with Kory again any time soon. Maybe in the new Titans TV show they will (But, I foresee Dick and Babs being a thing in the movies)

The best things about this arc: we learnt that Dick sees Damian as a son Dick considers Damian the one true heir to the Robin mantle Damian is also heir to the Nightwing mantle Damian is insecure hence why clings to his legacy Damian misses Dick Damian loves Dick more than Bruce. You know while watching this I realized something, I love young Justice (the show) but there is one thing that they fell short at and that was capturing the true nature of Nightwing in the show. He didn't inspire people quite like he does in the comics, maybe that was due to him not being the center character or something else but that was just an observation I made. This series finally made me like Damian. He is just a kid. At the end of the day he's a kid who has kid like needs and real feelings. Him and dick are family. And at the core dick is really Damian's older brother who looks after him and I really dig the relationship they have going on right on. I love how this series for me humanized Damian it made him go from a deadly kid soldier killing machine to this fragile little boy who is afraid of being alone and lonely.

I don't know that you need to remaster the videos, I like the scripted structure you use to use. I feel like more details of the story were included back then. Now, while the videos are still good, you tend to get excited by an idea and go on a tangent and I feel like aspects of the story are getting glossed over more. Something interesting not directly pointed out by Rob's commentary on Nightwing's speech at the end, just in case anyone else didn't pick up on it, something to consider at least It makes an interesting juxtaposition that Doctor Hurt motivated people to become "better" through tragedy, while Nightwing being a sort of beacon of hope, or at least to Damien in this instance, to be better through inspiring and encouraging him.

The thing about this story was that it's vague on whether it's building up to the Dr. Manhattan encounter or Metal. Or both. The knife that Dick is cut with was stated to be Nth metal, the same stuff that Hawkman uses, and that it can absorb or bestow memories or visions to those exposed to it. So with Nth metal being confirmed to play a role in Metal, you can take the idea that it will play a role in the (probably multiversal) secret that Batman has. What this does with the knowledge Batman gained in Darkseid War, or how his machine used at the end of Superheavy to create new Batmen (where he also experienced parallel lives to trying to become Batman again), is still very unclear.
