Barry is my favorite Flash. He's smart His knowledge of Physics is what allowed him to understand and control his powers. Only someone like him could have been the first flash to use the speed force All the other Flashes that came after him learned how to use the speed force because he passed down that knowledge. The Speed Force chose him for a reason.

Brodie Tanzer No he is not, the things Flash changes don't affect several characters who are above Universes. Barry only affected 1 universe with Flashpoint, after Flashpoint when Barry was changing everything back Pandora re-wrote the reality to create New 52. That also didn't affect several characters. Lucifer, Michael, Gabriel, The Presence, The Spectre, Pandora, Trigon, Phantom Stranger etc.. are all unaffected by New 52.

A little correction. Jay Garrick got his powers from Mercury. Not the exact same thing as Hermes; I mean in practice the same thing but not in theory. Since, while Earth 1 deals with Greek Mythology, Earth 2 does so with Roman Mythology.

Barry Allen will always be the definitive Flash for me, Wally West is the only other character I ever considered a real Flash (in the silver age) and I'm not the biggest Wally West fan. That being said I still think The Flash is my favourite hero in the DCU, regardless of which iteration it is.

Barry Allen is the best Flash hands down. I think he is the fastest Flash regardless what other people think. If he can generated speed force, his speed is unlimited. The problem is...i think he is like Superman, he tends to holds back a lot. Superman can be as strong as he wants to be. Barry can be as fast as he wants to be. Yes Wally is fast but I think he comes in second to Barry. Then again, I'm old school and I grew up watching Barry while the new school see Wally the better Flash. I guess it all depends who's writing the story. Regardless, Barry is my favorite. Besides his title says it all.

To me Barry Allen is always The Flash. I stopped reading comics in the 90's, not too long after Barry Allen's death, and started reading again with the New 52 after Barry Allen returned as the Flash. So, I never read the comics while Wally West was the Flash, although I was a fan of the Justice League cartoons and had no problem with Wally West being the Flash then. DC doesn't seem like they know what to do with Wally West currently. He appeared in the New 52 as a bi-racial kid, but he wasn't The Flash, and they can't exactly call him The Flash while Barry Allen is the Flash. Now with Convergence, the white Wally West is back as The Flash in the Pre-Flashpoint Gotham City. I think they will likely kill this version of Wally off and remove him from the canon, and keep the bi-racial Wally as a new speedster in his silver costume. They certainly have to keep Barry as The Flash, now that he is The Flash in the TV show.

Redheaded Wally West is not just my favorite Flash but also my all time favorite character in all of comics! The reason being that he introduced me to comics with Justice League and Justice League Unlimited and I always think of him as the true embodiment of the Flash identity being hopeful and all that. I was really sad and kind of bitter when they got rid of him in the New 52 but was estatic when DC Rebirth #1 brought him back in fact the main reason I'm trying to get all the Titans Rebirth books is because Wally's in them and I need to reconnect with my redhead Wally!

I haven't read a lot, well any really, Flash, but my personal favorite is Flash beyond. She hears and sees all the previous Flashes, who are either trapped in the Speed Force or that is where the soul of a Flash goes when they die, justivce league beoynd wasn't clear in that regard. It was hinted at that the other Flashes are just in her mind and that shes losing it, but alas justice league beyond 2.0 went on hiatus before that got straightened out.

Wally New 52 origins was wrong here, the one you mentioned is from New 52 Flash Future's End which is a non-canon "what if" story. The only canon version of Wally West Flash is when he cam back from the future to battle with Future Flash, he never stated how he got his powers though.
