I used to dislike superman, felt that he was "boring" because he was always good and strong and reliable. Now that I'm older and less edgy and stupid I learned to appreciate precisely THAT. Superman's real selling point isn't that he's strong, it's that he's always a beacon of hope, that he remains reliable, that he remains being good and honest. Even when something surpasses him, he does his best to help and do the right thing. So, yeah, loved his split second participation ;D

Love how this story is just a love letter to the Flash family. Everyone gets a part in this. Jay, Barry, Wally, Bart, Wallace, Irey... Hell, even Superman has a small part to play even though he's super slowed. Considering how certain members will be disrespected just to tell a story (Jay in Zero Hour, Wally in Heroes in Crisis, etc) it's such a breath of fresh air to have this story pay respect to all the speedsters as they team up to fight a big threat! Speaking on Heroes in Crisis I am SO glad they finally wiped up the last of that big mess with bringing back everyone who died so stupidly.

Actually I would say Jay Garrick is the leader due to his war experience and often being the team dad everybody follow in any group setting. Barry is, and definitely in this story, more like the brains as he utilizes his own scientific knowledge and creative mind to come up with unique solutions against any problem he is faced with. Like there is a reason he is often viewed as the smart guy in the Justice League

Ok I love that character moment with impulse just taking Murder’s info about how she’s tracking them. Then just does what he feels most natural doing. Showcasing the greatest strength and weakness of Bart Allen, the trait behind his Alter Ego’s namesake. Good writing moment. 👍🏻

Iris made the most crucial mistake here: She proposed to a superhero, a MASSIVE death flag. That’s an actual thing btw, superheroes are supposed to be self-inserts, the cool dude with the beautiful gf, but when they get married and have kids they become your dad’s self-insert and no teen wants to see their dad’s adventures.

Assuming this story didn't miss anything, I think something silly is that this ending means that the bad guys just fuck off the hurt more people and potentially doing all this again another day to Earth. Only assumedly tons of people still trapped as conduits. You think they would be gathering up all the homies to go all out war against these people. Chase them down and stop them before they can cause any more damage. Instead its just "okay, bye bad guys. Better luck next time or something. We gonna be down here partying cause we won this time lmao"

flash is able to give his speed, but doing so slows him down. Also, those who are given the speed force require training to just use it let alone master it, Flash cannot tell someone to just run, there are other factors to consider: Such as connection to the speed force, precision, and technique.

I'm fascinated by the Flash family's ability to communicate while moving at superluminal speeds. Given their speed, the surrounding air particles should seem extremely slow in comparison. Since the speed of sound is contingent on the movement of these particles, I'm curious how they're able to perceive and react to auditory stimuli, let alone carry on conversations. It seems to me that sound waves wouldn't have time to reach their ears due to the disparity in speed. Could you please provide some insight into this apparent paradox?

In other words, instead of the oxygen molecules moving towards them as they would in a standard breathing process, the Flash family would be moving towards the oxygen. This seemed to differ from the concept of the Speed Force accelerating sound for them. Would you mind elaborating on this?

The difference in speed between Superman and a speedforce conduit fully tapping in to the speedforce (which the tower was forcing them to do) is ambiguous, but usually shown to be quite large, especially in Flash comics. I think the tower might have also been stealing speed from everyone that wasn’t a speed-based conduit, so that contributes a lot to Superman being so slow here

The way I see it, he could eventually speed up, but he needs to consciously push himself faster, so give him a few seconds and he could probably go pretty fast. But, he wasn't given any warning, even the speedsters only figured it out because they had their power forcibly activated.

My introduction into Impulse was in Teen Titans and showed his transition into Kid Flash and I even read some of him as The Flash. It's jarring seeing this portrayal of him that he's long out grown

What doesn't make sense is Wally discovered that he can lend speedforce to people without it, and he can also steal kinetic energy. So, he could speed Superman up to their speed if desired, and fight the speedy invaders by stealing their kinetic energy, thereby slowing them down. Of course that was pre-New 52, so maybe they've changed it since his return?

He needs a few fractions of a second to slow his perception of time down to meet the Flash's speed and perception using the speed force otherwise he'd go insane from boredom watching everything in super duper slow mo
