I honestly really loved the New 52 Earth-2. I wish DC gave it the exposure of Marvel's Ultimate universe. There was a serious missed opportunity for people to not hate the 52, by making it about 52 new UNIVERSES in the newly reformed multiverse instead of the full main continuity reboot.

Personally I really appreciate DC sticking to one universe outside of some very special events like DCeased, but the new-52 earth 2 could have been a separate run entirely given how many of these characters are so fleshed out with so few stories told.

I liked it until they weren't calling the justices society the justice society and they wanted to make everything about sexual this and sexual that gay characters they didn't have to go that route and now it's destroyed one of DC's founding characters Alan Scott because they transferred that to the real Alan Scott not the fake one that was in this story but the first 15 or 16 issues that James Robinson wrote other than the gay thing we're awesome with Superman coming back and I really believed it was Superman and it turning out to be Earth to bizarro that was a great plot twist

The biggest complaint I see is that Earth-1 has race swaps & some canonically straight characters that were made gay. I agree that those aspects of the story were 100% unnecessary & honestly dumb & annoying. That said, I'd have had no problem with any of it had they made it specifically just another set of universes.. The stories ranged in my opinion from 4-8/10 on average with stories like this one being a rather rare 10/10 for me in the new 52. I think it's 100% fair for people to feel how they do about it whether it's that they love it or hate it.

Superman is distant descendant of Kryptonian god Rao. So, he is demi-god, fraction god and fraction Kryptonian. AND he has a codex in his veins, meaning he is Kryptonian equivalent of genetic prodigy/super soldier. Superman is meant to be the big gun. That is kinda his thing, just like how Batman is paranoid and untrustworthy. Also, realistically speaking, Superman’s powers are the most based in science. And, in all honesty, somebody with Superman’s abilities should resemble Dr. Manhattan more in terms of move set and style of fighting. Superman is a walking star. A nuclear reactor that can swallow a planet whole. Sun is 15 million times bigger than Earth. And our sun is not even the biggest star out there. So, if anything, Superman is often depicted as underpowered. If we take cosmic scale into effect, Superman should cause global earthquakes every time he walks, and turn cities into ash and dust every time he sneezes. THAT is how much energy a solar flare can do. And from perspective of a STAR, solar flare is just “poof” on it’s surface. Superman is so strong because that is who he is. Just like Manhattan - energy-based characters are very god-like. DC was always about “gods trying to be human”. If you prefer “humans try to be gods”, Marvel is a better pick

I loved this series but at a certain point it became a misery-fest. You see Superman kinda sorta die three times BEFORE the planet blows up. Plus, it was Alan Scott click bait that got me into comics. So for his fiance to *immediately* die and for Alan to never get another relationship didn't sit right with me.

Earth 2 could have been better if it wasn’t the end of the earth story arc. i would do earth 2 Society different. Ted Grant should’ve have been Wildcat, Red Arrow originally was going to be name Roy McQueen a mixed of Oliver Queen and Roy harper instead of Connor Hawke. Terry Solan being a bad guy was a mistake to the legacy of JSA he should’ve been MR. Terrific of Earth 2. Alan Scott being Gay was not a good idea they could have created a new gay character. we didn’t see Doctor mid Nite or the spectre or Starman. they should’ve had Kent Nelson as Doctor Fate. wish they used other JSA Villains too. and they could do a time-skip to Add new heroes like Earth 2 superman Val, fury as Wonder woman and Dick as Batman and add Star-Spangled Kid. the beginning should be Alan Scott Green Lantern CO Leader, Jay Garrick as the Flash CO Leader, Hawkgirl Kendra Saunders, Al Pratt The Atom, Rex Tyler The Hourman, Golden Age Black Canary, Kent Nelson as Doctor Fate, and Ted Grant as Wildcat. to fight the Injustice Society. other would join the JSA or like Wesley Dodds as the Sandman, Carter Hall the Hawkman, Terry Solan as Mister Terrific. the world army come later same members Sonia Sato Red Arrow, adding Hawkman, Star-Spangled Kid, Starman, Stripesy, Doctor mid Nite and others to start off as not allies to the JSA because the World Army loyal to the government and don't trust the JSA early because they are not link or working with the government. the Atom doesn’t joined the World Army. the Spectre come to alert the heroes that the JSA and World Army must all world together against the invasion of aliens. i'll keep Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman and other heroes died saving the world years ago the JSA would fought with Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman's rouge’s gallery.

Meh? There's a lot going on in this story, one gay green lantern doesn't change the stakes. If the green lantern is an avatar of nature, red tornado is downloaded memory copy of Lois, and the flash is imbued with the literal power of a god, the addition of a gay character or a black superman only makes the world more colorful.
