Excellent video. I'm a D&D player but for the kids, your explanation is tops.

Thanks for the good job of satisfying my curiosity. I guess it's designed to be sort of a party (pun intended) role playing game with kids according to a lot of review I've read. You were quick with your descriptions of what a character might do without getting silly. I like the modular player boards, uniquely shaped map tiles (design is sort of like the Unmatched game) and the DM monster & encounter deck tray. The art is appropriately colorful. Everything is easy to see and read.

@Collection THX1138 A "Party" game with kids ... I see what you did there. :D It really is a light cooperative game with good design and components especially for the price. Thanks for watching!

Hey Dale thanks for the play through. I like this game from the looks of it. I like the rotating DM I think they did a good job with that for a board game perspective. Think its very clever. What are you thoughts on a rotating DM since you play the original DnD? Also it seems like they made it very streamlined and made it easier to play than the original DnD board games like Wrath of Ashadalon or Mad Mage. Since its so easy to play my only concern is the replay ability when people get more experience, however good for kids though. I have a hunch the DnD board games is still the best in this DnD genre. Thanks for the play through still waiting for my game :D

@Mr. A Lee I like the rotating DM for the storytelling part of the game and the target audience for this game, which I assume to be family games with adults and younger kids. I would definitely still recommend the other DnD games over this unless the goal was to bring in younger players. Thanks for watching!

As a noob i don't get why to go side ways to fight monsters instead of going strait to avoid getting damage. You do it just for the leveling, in order to beef up for the final boss ?
@DaletheCasualGamer3 жыл бұрын
@Billy Tsik Basically, that's it ... to level up. It's an introductory type game, so not much strategy. A little role play, and a little roll dice. Happy Gaming! :)

Thanks for the video Dale. Good for younger kids, 7-8+, rather 10+. Aside from the terrible puns on almost every card, which probably means I won't play with my group. It seems bland repetitive. Those long battles would challenge the attention span of some players and should they gravitate to D&D fifth edition they'd be shocked by the relative complexity compared to this game and how largely different it is.
@DaletheCasualGamer3 жыл бұрын
@Michael Hill Thanks for watching! It is definitely a "younger" gamer/player type game in my opinion, and agreed, a board game won't really prepare a new player to playing a full RPG ... but it's a start. :)

So if you move to a non-monster space, you still fight a monster if that's the next card?

@Nic Stevenson Yep, but there's a chance it might not be a monster. ;)

@@DaletheCasualGamer just makes it a solo game then I would think. One person moving all pieces in one direction at the same time. I ordered the game so disappointed that the kids really don’t get any choice of where to go and what to do. Just hoping it turns out to be more than what it’s looking like right now.
