First Merry Xmas Dave. I’ve watched every single one of your videos but I feel like you’re at your best when you’re in the Lakes and dare I say it, solo. This was a cracking one for me to watch on Christmas Day evening but at sixty five years old I’m definitely a warm weather camper now and seeing you up there keeps me going until the warmer weather when I’ll be up that way myself. The hand warmers - I bought a shed load of the Hot Hands ones and they still work after three years. Do you know you have to sort of shake them about to get the air to activate them. I also noticed you’ve now got some mittens although you didn’t use them, I suffer badly from cold fingers and mittens work for me. Looking forward to your next one. All the best, you are the best outdoor KZbinr.

Thanks for another fabulous vid Dave. Don't worry about the stats, like you say vlog about the things that make you happy! Imho your channel is one of the best on KZbin. Stunning filmography which captures your passion for the mountains beautifully. All the best for 24 pal! Keep up the great work!

I get why your views dropped. Most liked the solo aspect of your camping adventures. The dynamics changed so the views went down. 😊
@GoSummitSolo11 ай бұрын
Nope not at all. It is deffinetly because most is based in scotland now where as most the followers were Lake District lovers. Scotlands too far for people down south to go so less interest. Also unknown territory. Not being solo could be a small reason but defo not the main reason. We both still film seperatly dispite it not being solo so we still express similar things to which we would being solo. I believe it's cuz the locations changed and it's not of people's interest. Most Scottish video makers really struggle in general but whenever it's Lake District or Wales it is banging with views. Specially Wales being so close to the more southerners. Xxx happy new year

Great video again, proper stuff not this dramatic look at me in a 100mph wind in a blizzard rubbish that some kick out just to attract views. I mean why would anyone get out in that crap apart from views. I've always liked your channel cos you come across as a genuine guy who's doing it for the right resons and the same reason as a lot of us are, the enjoyment, excercise and the love of mountains. Yourself and Scotlands Mountains are the only channels I keep coming back to. Well done sir, keep up the good work👍👍👍

I don’t know what the magic formula is for attracting views, but I’m sure there are ways to work the KZbin algorithm to your advantage. I’ve always enjoyed your videos Dave and I’ll continue to watch them. Maybe you should include a bit more drama into your video titles such as ‘near death experience’ or ‘frozen alive’ or ‘ghostly encounter’ because that seems to work? Anyway I hope you’re getting some satisfaction and reward for all your hard work.Hope you’ve had a good Xmas and best of luck for 2024.

Happy Christmas Dave! Great watch. I was out that way ‘bagging’ my 213 Wainwrights (hard knot) from Seathwaite via Esk Pike, in Late November. I know you’re not a bagger so probably not interested 😂 That’s a very quiet part of the Lakes and the south side the Scarfells is amazing. The red tent made me laugh and then you show a vlog with you in a red tent near the end 😂. I watch a lot of your vlogs on the home flat screen which is like being there in the Lakes but not easy to like and make a comment. I look forward to my bi-weekly watch of the Lakes so please keep going, Sod the rest. Your love of the Lakes keeps me there in spirit despite me being 340 miles away on the South Coast. We’ll be moving up there in June for a full two year plus adventure. Can’t wait. Happy New Year. Wishing you all the best.

With the hobby picking up massively during covid, the increase in people watching hiking/camping videos increased massively, and as is the way with hobbies there’s a drop off in interest. It’s nothing to do with your content. I personally think your content is some of the best of in the hobby, there’s no sales pitches, there’s no Ray Mears a 100 meters from the car malarkey, it’s genuine well thought out, true to life experience in the mountains.
