I need to schedule a partial thyroid removal. I already take medication. I have a nodule on one side that is growing and these last few years it's grown a lot. I have never had surgery and I am so nervous.

I have had so many ultrasounds and I did a fine needle biopsy that came back fine but the doctor also says there is a reason why it is growing and we need to figure out what that is.

Was your procedure Is out patient or did you stay the hospital?

@@iceis30 I stayed one night and was released the next morning. It's totally normal to be scared but the good news is that it is a relatively simple surgery. Good luck with everything!

@@NoelleEve72 Thank you so much for getting back to me. Did you have any immediate side effects? One concern is the ability to speak and regulating my hormones. Apparently I was told that I may not need medication as half a thyroid may be sufficient.
