If you were my son,I would be beaming with pride. For despite your own personal challenges and the challenges your family put you through, you remain so loyal and loving to them. They named you Solomon because they knew you would be wise but they could have also named Alexander because you truly are great.

Soloman, I’m so proud of you! You’re so right; there is nothing worse then feeling like someone who loves you, is ashamed of you. Be you and be strong. They will adjust to a new normal relationship with you as long as you stand strong in who you are. You don’t know me but I love you and support you because you’re a beautiful soul. I’m counting on you to achieve every goal your heart desires. You can win; why? Because you’re a winner!! Your parents love you, they just need time to process. When they come to realize you’re your happiest when being you, they will adjust. They want to know you’re ok and sure within yourself.

It's 2024 now and I'm 80. 🥺 You're a really exceptional young man, Solomon, in every way. I'm sure you'll do well and be happy in life. You deserve it! I'm wondering if anyone could explain to me why so many black ppl are so homophobic. I have some ideas, but I'd like to hear from others. It's even worse in the Caribbean and Africa.

With this video being about 2 years old, I don't know if you will ever see this comment. But if you do, I wanted to let you know that by allowing yourself to be so forthright and vulnerable in the way you did touched me deeply. You have helped me strengthened me on my own road toward healing. And for that, I owe you a serious debt of gratitude. Thank you, Solomon.

Dear Solomon Just found your channel and went through a whole box of Kleenex listening to it. This post is 5 years old now and you must be near 21. I know you are living a much better life now and pray your family has grown up and become more educated. Your parents knew you were gay way back before they asked you about it. When you admitted it and they went to pieces, I wonder what they would have replied if you had said, would you rather have had me lie to you and not admit it? You know Mom and Dad some kids that are rejected and scorned for who they are either leave and never come home ever again, or their parents find them dead in a closet with an apology note for not being able to be exactly who they were expected to be. I hope your parents and family have seen this heartfelt video and understand the pain they put you through. I lost 20 years of contact with my parents because they couldn't understand. But that was a long time ago. People have no excuse not to be far more educated now than they were then. I hope they love and appreciate you for who you are now and "they" have grown up. Take care.

Solomon, you are not only a true authentic gay person, but you're a true human being and a role model for so many on how to just be a good decent human being. This is the kind of person that I am too. Sometimes I feel like I'm so alone in being a good natured person, but seeing someone like you reminds me that there really are other good souls out there. Thank you so much for being so brave and sharing your story. I felt that story about your grandma. I felt that deeply and can clearly see that you thank God for her. I'm watching this video 5 years after you posted it, but that just goes to show you that when you recorded it, you probably didn't realize that it would really keep on touching people for years to come. You're amazing. Don't ever forget that! God bless you and God bless all of us!

It amazes me that a black man could tell his son to turn the other way in the presence of bullying or bigotry. I mean, really?!?! You deserved so much better. They don't sound like emotionally mature people. The nerve to say you "lied" to them? Can they even comprehend what this was like for you? I have 0 patience for people who react like this.

I just came across your post. I am a little surprised that I didn't see it before, and I am not sure if your site is still active. i am hoping that it is. Your are a great young man in every aspect - good looking, intelligent and obviously take very good care of himself. I guess by now you have completed your university training and I wish you all the success. You are so right - everybody deserves to be happy, including you. I think you are now happier although the memories make you still very emotional. Make sure you find someone who appreciates the wonderful person that you are, treat you with the respect you deserve and provider you with the depth of unconditional love that you have to give. Keep loving yourself. Love you Solomon.

Such an awesome story. Hopefully it transitions people to realize that shaming someone to be who you want them to be is never healthy for anyone. We will hurt on the inside although we may not say a word. So very proud of you for having that courage to acknowledge how you truly felt and not tuck that away to satisfy your parents or anyone. We all have but there does come a time when you feel like I've had enough. Some may not ever come to that moment. But for me I'd rather live in truth knowing that I'm happy healthy and making the best of these moments that aren't forever or guaranteed to us. Love you guy stay strong. Much love and success to you. You're gonna make it after all❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🌈🌈🌈🌈

So sorry, my man that she laid all her personal bullshit out on you. Not to be disrespectful at you in any way here. But this wasn't about her or your dad. It's your life and identity. Confidence and self worth. Happiness and pride of self, worthiness to be and express yourself. You deserve true unconditional love and to love! Never let anyone discount you with disrespectful bullying or toxic rhetoric, even if you have to stand alone, struggling to be on your own. Your mental health, happiness and dignity is paramount! I've had a similar story and I understand your emotions and challenges. I'm in my expiring 50s and I didn't allow parents or any family to make me a sacrifice for who I am. It's not yours to carry or bear.

Solomon, please be proud of yourself. You are an intelligent and strong person. I wish parents would think more progressively and be open to differences in people. It can be difficult if you do not have supportive and caring relatives and friends, so seek out open-minded teachers and professional counselors who can provide the emotional balance you need. You are a great human being who has much to offer the world.

Wow, Mr. Solomon i watched this video and it's not the worst coming out story. But it's sad that parents cannot learn what homosexuality is all about. The bible is what fuels their understanding. There is a book i want to suggest, hopfully you will read it. It's called "awakening to your life's purpose" by Eckhart Tolle

I'm happy you found yourself; sometimes, it takes decades for a person to do so. You have me thinking I should tell my story as well. Very different from yours. I see you had sympathy for your parents. I didn't at all. I told my mother girl stop crying all your foolish pride and vision for me when GOD DECIDES LIFE PURPOSE. WE GOTTA DO WHAT GOD WANTS.Well, I gotta do what God wants me to. I also said, " Momma, what do you think is gonna happen when you die and have to explain to God you didn't love me, your son cause I was a homosexual?" Don't be that stupid I told her. I'm here working God's assignment for me.
