Since end of June, IRCC has been conducting category-based Express Entry draws based on occupation and French language proficiency. Here are the 4 draws so far: 1) Jun 28 - 500 people from health occupations - min CRS score 476 2) Jul 5 - 500 people from STEM occupations - min CRS score 486 3) Jul 6 - 1,500 people from health occupations - min CRS score 463 4) Jul 7 - 2,300 people from French languange proficiency - min CRS score 439

One tip is look if there are jobs in your field in Canada beforehand. If you are coming for software engineering, embedded systems, RTL design/verification you would do well. If you come for Mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, automative, nuclear and aerospace, then most likely you would end up working in Tim Horton's or Walmart. Remember Canada is not US, where you can study anything and get job in same field. Many of my friends are working in biomedical and genetic engineering in US, despite not having access to 90 % of jobs despite not having green card or citizenship.

Hey Gursahib, I'm not sure if you're aware that there's an ongoing war happening on the topic that Asians and other country folks are coming to Canada for a better life but Canadians are leaving the country for difficult scenarios like health care being inept, living expenses scaling with time but wages failing to match the expenses and the quality of life. Will you classify that as a situation that's specific to high population dense cities only like Toronto, Vancouver, etc., or is it at the provincial level and other provinces are facing that but less in comparison? Given the current global economic situation I'd love to hear your opinion on that and what measures should a new immigrant or one who's aspiring to migrate there should do as a preventive measure that can help them with this wage not matching quality of living argument. If not a video, then maybe a youtube/instagram short?

You should check out the 82 prioritized occupations identified by IRCC in 2023 for easier PR. If your occupation is not one of them, then you have to rely on high CRS score for ITA (invitation to apply). On Jul 4, the "all program" Express Entry draw has minimum CRS score of 511. It is nearly impossible to get 500 without the help of PNP, LMIA, or French language proficiency. Another option is to find a province with easier PNP. Ontario is not a province for easy PNP.
