This, the extras are nice but the most important part is a real physical copy which means the game on the physical media, no online authorization pre or post install, and no console wannabe platform like Steam. I was going to buy this until I saw it was a download code, pirated it instead. Very hypocritical of Limited Run Games, they fight against real physical copies by releasing cancer like this.

I would not imagine, nor could anyone, that COVID would have caused delays. Because nobody uses CDs at all nor even DVDs really anymore. The few businesses that sell physical media such as HMV and Game are in serious financial trouble. Many modern computers no longer even have disk drives. And because superfast broadband speeds are exceptionally common and fibre broadband becoming the norm as well, why would the developers and retailers spend so much money on an outdated physical copy that nobody would buy. Retailers would not even risk selling it. Everything is VOD and digital as it should be.

@@rssy3819 Fair enough, I am old enough to have very fond memories of game disks and so on, I remember way back in the 1990s, my brother getting and letting me play really the first game CD the family owned, Star Wars Dark Forces (1995), and later the first C&C disk set. What I am simply saying in my comment is that those exciting days when going to buy a new film or new game on disk are gone and in the past, thats all.

Sorry about getting some of the details of the game wrong, but like I said in the video I haven't played the series since the original back in the 90s. I had moved on to Total Annihilation & Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness and then kinda got burned out on the genre. That said, I've heard good things about the Remastered version and may check it out soon.

The remaster is fantastic, but it doesn't go far enough to attract new players. I got 2 copies for my gf and I, hoping we would get some good matches going, but the gifted copy was a total dud. She said it felt way too old. I still enjoyed the hell out of it.

The NOD obelisk is no anti-aircraft defense. It's a anti defense against ground units, like tanks etc. The tesla coil do the same job in C&C RA.

The community asked a box, even though they knew it would be a Steam game. So they got a box. Limited Run gave EA a way to make fancy boxes like this for the people that wanted them. And that's really all there is to it. Everyone who bought it knew exactly what they were getting.

where is the game disc? a remastered collection (HD graphics i hope) with a digital assets disc, soundtrack disc, toys and paperwork but no game disc. That's weird. I hope they are not digital downloads only with a download code. I bought a command & conquer collection last year without realizing it was a download code in a CD case.

@@deadso The soundtrack, the metal tank, the Obelisk and Tesla Coil, and the cool tiberium usb drive. Oh, and the booklet full of concept art, which is available as digital document on the assets CD. Plenty of neat things in here. There is actually _no_ game key in the case, which is good, since I bought a few for other people, and I already used up a code from the ones they mailed me, so now I don't have to go figure out which code belongs to which box.

I do love these games! I remember loving Dune 2 from Westwood, before they made Command & Conquer! Real time strategy was so much fun! These are cool editions, but I'd have liked them to include physical versions of the games. Although they do have downloads of the game.

Sets like this are probably intended to be kept sealed as collector's item and preservation purposes. I do think it's great that Limited Run does physical releases of things that developers of the actual game do no. It's kind of disappointing that we're in a time where physical releases are not a guarantee.

@@Nyerguds Many pc gamers in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000 gets all of it including little figures and trinkets. By mid 90s where cd is prevalent, we get soundtrack that comes along with it. What Metal Jesus has is the same thing old PC gamers get. The only difference is that LRG give is a download code while the original pc gets are either physical disk or disc. I still got a cloth map of Everquest if anyone remember that game. For console, they weren't prevalent in the 90s but there are some. Earthbound is sold as a big box. I don't think there is normal size for that. Lunar and Lunar 2 got their standard goodies. Some of the special Saturn games have those as well. What Metal Jesus has is what regular PC gamers have for standard back then. So this make you think twice about SE now. For me, I wouldn't even bother getting those. Now, I consider a 4-8 in statue as a SE. I don't care about stickers and little pins that will get lost. I might like cd soundtrack and physical artwork.

I played the hell out of for awhile, and still have the Red Alert Expansions to go through. I'm sure receiving my collector's edition will rekindle my interest in that.

I don't want to diss you or anything, you're likeable and I like most of your content; And maybe I have been watching to much of Ashens' unboxings of special editions of video games. But except the nice tank unit, everything else in this 150 dollar (!) package looks like cheap & useless crap.

Community asked a box, even though they knew it would be a Steam game. So they got a box. Limited Run gave EA a way to make fancy boxes like this for the people that wanted them. And that's really all there is to it.

You can't anyway. Limited Run. And everyone who bought it was perfectly aware that it was a goodies box. Doesn't change the fact it is an awesome goodies box.

It’s a cool goodies box but that did render limited run to a Star Wars only brand for me.

One of my favorite games. I originally got it on one of those sampler discs and played that mission over and over until I got the full copy. Haven’t played the remaster yet, but still have my copy of The First Decade and need to get an old computer to play it.
