Commander Deck Tech: Thanksgiving Group Hug

When I first get kynaios and tiro I get because it was just sitting on the shelf at my local game store for weeks after commander 2016 and I thought it would be a funny deck I could scrap for cards it's now one of my best commended decks being a ramp heavy bant plus red control deck winning most through attrition like mill with forced fruition or sphinx's reflation or mana sinks like nin the pain artist or Aurelia's fury

I just recently built a k & t group hug deck, in mine, I threw in mana cache, forced fruition, bazaar trader, Zedruu and harmless offering in order to ‘trade’ away Edric Spymaster of Trest, or Conscrated Sphinx. Then play Rule of Law, Arcane Laboratory, or Eidolon of Rhetoric. Thus forcing opponents into only playing one spell a turn but having to draw 7+cards each turn. Toss in Walking Archive and Howling Golem attached with blade of selves and you can easily force opponents to draw out their decks. For even more LOLs, apply the card draw curse to yourself and watch opponents squirm about whether to take you out due to excessive card draw and other group hug benefits/ need to play more than one spell per turn vs. waiting to see if one of the other players will deck themselves before them.

Nice deck! I love this commander. My playgroup it's full of combo player, so I can't play the group hug version so easily. Now I'm trying a more selfish version: a tribal landfall deck, to exploit their additional land drop. It's a bit expensive (it needs all fetchland, crucible of worlds etc.) but very funny. Then i play Storm Cauldron and Mana Breach to mitigate Kynayos e Tiro's effect (my opponent will choose to put land) and to have fuel form landfall trigger.

I am surprised that there is no zedruu. He synergies very well with Approach of the second sun, and fits in the deck in flavor and colors

I am confused why you do not have Reliquary Tower. Considering the amount of cards you'll be drawing well into the beginning to middle game, you'll want as many chances to find a card giving you no maximum hand size as quickly as possible.

Yes, I have a love/hate relationship with font. At times it breaks the game wide open before you even get the extra card draw on your turn.

Voidmage Gamer yeaaa so I have a list that's group hug... But mostly king maker so I try to help one player on the field and sort of Piggy back off them to win. Cards like Bitter Feud, Skullwinder, Intellectual Offering, Fertilid, and others essentially group hug your new best friend. Then I run Heliod's Pilgrim and Open the Armory alongside enchantment tutors to fetch some select curses like Curse of Verbosity, Vow of Wildness, and even Overwhelming Splendor to pick on who I perceive is the biggest threat. Winning is off the back of ramp plus tokens from Sacred Mesa or Decree of Justice and Purphoros, or approach of the Second Sun. It's delightful to play :D

Voidmage Gamer skullwinder is a very good card. It’s much cheaper than Witness, and the fact that it helps out an opponent is politically fun. It also has deathtouch which is cool. All that being said, it is almost strictly worse than Witness.

I remember when cmdr 2016 launched. Stalwart Unity was the only box left.... no one wants a group hug deck. The only guy that ran that deck at my lgs was a staunch liberal, and I think that's the only reason he played it.
