J Man with objectively the worst threat assessment I have ever seen. Was hoping when he got Niv he would ping the fauna shaman so Kyle couldn't tutor anymore. Then the swan song with no counter spell for Atarka really cemented another Temur dragon win

I mean, he wouldn't be able to counter the Atarka with Swan Song... but not killing the Fauna Shaman with Niv-Mizzet was pretty bad indeed

Every game I've seen with miirym so far has the dragons winning... I guess a bunch of big flyers with tribal synergies being doubled is a really good way to stomp some face 😅

@@mostlycasualcommander I’ve played a couple games at my LGS with Miirym, using Dragon’s Approach to cheat dragons out. Pair that with Displacer Kitten to blink whatever dragons you cheat into play. Miirym can be defeated if you can board wipe, or make your own copies of dragons with powerful triggers.

I kinda hate how "easy" Miirym outclasses my personal favourite Dragon Commander, Lathliss Dragon Queen. Miirym does nearly the same thing, rewarding you for entering Nontoken Dragons. But better. Same cost as Lathliss, but also Ward, and access to Green, which helps extremly for typical problems like ramp and Card-Draw (for example elemental bond/ garruks uprising /temur ascendency) I still hold onto Lathliss, but i feel the ongoing powercreep will "force" me to change the lead of the party. :( And Miirym will also be fun, i know that! But lesser as... a challenge, i feel. :-( Just my 2 cents. Great video as always! :-)

I’m beginning to think miiryam gives Ur Dragon a run lol. Ur dragon often wins with similar explosive turns but they happen later and need more set up.

i wish that Miirym didn't mention the legendary rule. there's more than enough non legendaries, and many of the legendary dragons have an etb or death trigger that's good enough to make up for not getting the second body. when i built my deck i didn't realize the legendary rule was ignored so i was planning on having the copy of all my legendaries get whichever trigger but just die after.

On my table by turn 7 we'd have seen 2 board wipes to keep Miirym under control. The new awesome dragon won every game I saw so far on yt, but I feel it's only due to the fact that none of those games saw only a single boardwipe. I mean I get it, it's nicer to show games where people go off instead of watching endless boring control games. But it's also somewhat unrealistic. I feel like watching those games, building the deck for your self and then realizing it's not going to go off like that in reality could be going to make some ppl feel pretty bad :D Just my two cents for Miirym. Nonetheless I really like you content, it's great to watch!

I built miirym and EVERY game I’ve had with it it has gone off 1-2 turns after I cast miirym. Most of the time killing the entire table. I’ve only played 13 games with it and lost once to my son lasering me to the face with aetherflux. If I added interaction to the deck it would be even stronger.

@@Acheron1775 how often did you have to recast him before you were able to win? What kind of ramp are you running, like landramp, or artifacts that tap for more mana than they cost? I'm curious because as i said, i have the feeling that my group wold interact with this commander hardcore and I would not be able to pay his commander tax pretty fast. I sure would like to play him, because he looks awesome. It's just that I'm skeptical if I can make it work.

I love all of the Doubling Commanders! I've built Teysa, Isshin, and Miirym (still need Yarok). All of them have such different strategies which can be fun to mess with (Miirym is def the most straightforward: play dragons = win). Fun to watch though 😉
