Is Raggadragga taking over cEDH? Don't know, but does the table have the exact answers to a Raggadragga deck in the first two turns? ABSOLUTELY!

I run Raggadragga on Arena and I can reliably get the second ability to trigger by turn 4. Depending on the board state I'll be able to chain multiple triggers on turn 4. When you're playing against Raggadragga you always bolt the bird. Always.

I wouldn't say that Chris' win in game 2 was out of nowhere; just Heronblade and Raggadragga both being on the field had me eyeing him as soon as he passed the turn, and Scryb Ranger was the cherry on top, even if its only function there ended up being tutoring Dockside. Raggadragga, 7 mana and any dork whose production scales with power tends to be critical mass ridiculously easily in a game with that commander, the player usually just needs a good way to draw cards.

Kinnan does not need Thoracle as a win condition. You can either Finale of Devastation for arbitrarily large creatures or use Tidespout Tyrant/Hullbreaker Horror to bounce everything. I've yet to see a scenario where one of those wasn't enough.

Yes. I cringe whenever I see Thoracle in nonblack decks (few exceptions aside like Grolnok). It's completely useless in Kinnan.

Raggadragga is awesome, another great combo is Hateflayer & Nyxbloom Ancient + either Cryptolith Rite or Citanul Hierophants. what this does is the following: Hateflayer has an ability that costs 3 red and you untap it and it deals damage to target creature or player equal to its power, it starts as a 5/5. so with Cryptolith Rite or Citanul Hierophants, you tap the hateflayer for 3 red mana thanks to Nyxbloom tripling your mana production, you use it to untap hateflayer, dealing 5 damage to target player, you rinse and repeat this until the table is dead and you win the game. Another fun one, is having 3 mana dorks out that tap for mana equal to their power then casting spine of ish sah and have it destroy itself then recasting it over and over, making 3 infinitely large tramplers and attacking for the win.

Spine of Ish Sah, Great Oak, and all that other stuff doesn’t seem needed - he’s making enough mana from Heronblade that Ragadraga should be able to infinitely pump his board - and looping Boseiju who Endures + Thorn mammoth would be enough to wipe all permanents without needing spine of Ish Sah - doesn’t exactly feel slot efficient
@VzDeath10 ай бұрын
Great oak is necessary due to it's untap and pump ability. Spine can just destroy itself to make infinite mana (provided you have an outlet)

I’m curious as a casual fan of cEDH but not a player. Has the one ring made more decks without blue viable? Or just made the decks with blue that much better because they can run remora,rhystic and one ring ?

It’s ran in like 85% or so of decks now. Made a ton of decks better, but it’s also ran in most blue decks, so yea lol
@andrewharper4138 Жыл бұрын
I also wouldn't say it's any more decks more viable than they were before. Like it didn't make any high power decks cedh decks all of a sudden because of a new advantage engine. It made existing decks just better

First 2 decks announced win conditions are Thoracle, then we see Kinnan mullingan a Thoracle only to win with the same Thoracle. Man I'm so tired of that stupid card.
@InmAncalagon Жыл бұрын
Thoracle is completely useless in Kinnan and just bad deckbuilding.
@ianwentz6617 Жыл бұрын
@@InmAncalagon Thoracle itself is just not a card that is utilized for any fair purpose other than degenerate combos. In a slower constructed format where you can run multiples, you can haphazardly chuck one on the board for some filtering, which was clearly the point of the card. They clearly mad a design error though in that you can win the game even if your deck has 0 cards in it. It's one of the things that devastated Pioneer and is still the most frequent win line in U/B for Commander.
@InmAncalagon Жыл бұрын
@@ianwentz6617 Playing it in Kinnan is definitely fair because it only makes the deck worse. It serves absolutely no purpose in the deck at all because Kinnan can only get rid of the library by drawing it - at which point you can win by Finale of Devastation or by looping your deck with Endurance, making infinite tokens with something like Pongify, bouncing everything your opponents have with Hullbreaker Horror or Cyc Rift and keeping a full grip of counterspells, then passing and winning next turn. Thoracle is unnecessary and only adds a dead card to the deck, making it weaker.
